Re: WADL didnt show the CW ACC football game this past saturday

I've noticed that WMYD continues to ID as 20 Detroit although the CW programming aired during Primetime. Are they still not sure if the WADL sale to Mission Broadcasting is going to happen or be approved?

October 2023 Detroit PPM Ratings

The Sports Station is all the way up to a 10.1 and WLLZ is down to a 2.3 which might be it for them. I also noticed that 910 WFDF has a 0.4 rating.

Re: WADL didnt show the CW ACC football game this past saturday

It was expected that WADL would be purchased by Mission Broadcasting.

Re: WRIF, St. Patrick's Day 1992

WRIF had its three worst ratings in the 1990's Fall 1991: 2.8 Summer 1992: 2.6 Summer 1993: 2.3 They did quite well from the 1970's up until about 1987. From 1995 onward they also earned high ratings most of the time. Wikipedia claims that WRIF almost gave up on Rock in the late 1980's, which might ...

Re: WRIF, St. Patrick's Day 1992

I remember how it went in the 1990's. WLLZ was New Rock by June of 1995, and it lasted six months. 97-1 only played Rock for about two years and then went FM Talk until 2007. The old Z-Rock became The Bear and was Classic Rock by 1997. By March of 1999 what used to be WKRK no longer played music on ...

Re: WRIF, St. Patrick's Day 1992

1992 was the time that WCSX and WRIF were owned by two different companies. I read that WRIF almost went away in the late 1980's to become a competitor to FM 98 WJLB. Both WCSX and WLLZ were beating WRIF in the ratings in 1992. If the Drew and Mike Morning Show was not there at the time, they might ...

Re: Amherstburg's NEW Radio Station ~ Coming Spring 2023

It looks like they could go 200 watts directional if they move 95.1 MHz. Protecting CKUE-FM Chatham-Kent is all you would need to do because there are no Detroit based translators on that freq. (yet). Just let the CRTC know that the higher power has to do with overcoming interference and has nothing...

Re: CKWW 580 New owner

It's up for sale but so far no one is buying. Two AM radio stations in Hamilton are dealing with the same situation. One of the problems is that there are no vacant FM channels for the new owners to move these stations to in either one of those cities, meaning they will be stuck on AM. In addition t...

Re: AM Radio might have 10 more years

I don't agree with that ten-year prediction. I can just see the number of AM signals thinning out because of online streaming.
AM Conservative Talk will also continue to lose listeners each year. Podcasts allow that you listen to anytime, also will not go away.

Re: Terk Amplified Indoor FM Antenna

In most situations you do not want to use any kind of amplifier for FM reception. They increase noise and overloading if you have nearby transmitters. A folded dipole or a loop made out of 10 feet worth of wire is an indoor antenna. Location is the other important factor. It could be an attic or nea...

Re: New Hamilton, Ontario Radio/TV tower

This link from another board has photos of the tower and they go into details about the project. https://gta.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?id=10225&p=1 In July they just started it. Three months later the total height of the tower is now built. Both Yes TV and CHCH-TV now transmit from the new tower w...

Re: Old Cable TV Line ups(New thread)

In 1983 when the Pay Channels started, I think 17-25 looked like this. C Channel was out of business by the time we subscribed to Pay TV, so I just had to guess where it was located. Channel 2-13 remained the same as in 1982 and they are mentioned earlier in this thread. 17: CHCH-TV Hamilton (Ind.)...

Re: The Roar 93.5/99.1 is done... for real this time

Now that The Roar is gone does Birach have anything to lose if AM 1160 becomes Sports? Why not double your audience so you can have a 0.1 in the ratings?
