Re: CTV News Windsor
If CHWI shuts down, I believe they will no longer be able to sell local advertising and simsubs in the Windsor area. Then again, how much are they selling to begin with? I believe CFPL’s signal still covers Sarnia enough to allow them to advertise and simsub, even with CKCO’s repeater shutting down...

In around 1977 it was "TV-2 is Yours".

Re: No more 60s on WMJI Cleveland?
Yes, but the big boys screwed the Ma and Pa internet small netcasters with a royalty rate so high that most are gone. Radiodomy just died after taking on stations that bailed from another service that went up in flames because the small netcaster royalty rates are higher than iHeart and friends. Al...

Peculiar they want to do so at all, but I guess with where things are these days, they want to act like they still care.

Re: Why bother with a broadcast anymore?
Great, crossing forums now... Most of the time you get the immediate action that happened from social media, but no information about it. That's where the news broadcasting comes in. I could say the exact same for looking out a window and seeing there is a fire at the local bar. Headline: "Fire hit...

Re: Old cable lineups
47 - The Nostalgia Channel (very little known about this channel) I vaguely remember The Nostalgia Channel. They showed reruns of old variety shows like Tony Orlando and Leslie Uggams, (a little like Apsire used to show The Flip Wilson show.) I'm not 100 percent sure on this but that's what I think...

Re: CKCO-3 Channel 42 Off the Air?
Wanna bet that Bell will try to bribe stations in Detroit and Buffalo to go cable only as well? No doubt that would cause Comcast to lick their chops. Yeah, I'll take the opposite side of that bet. Why the hell would Bell give a rat's ass whether or not U.S.-based network affiliates are cable/sat o...

Re: CKCO-3 Channel 42 Off the Air?
no, bell decided they wanted to shut off their two biggest analog transmitters, CKCO-TV-3 and CJOH-TV-6 in Deseronto... no surprise there. I think bell and shaw dream of turning CTV and Global into general-entertainment cable channels (and will eventuallhy pressure the CRTC to allow for such a cate...

Re: TV Guide
They discontinued the regional editions in 2005, in favor of the national listings. I gave up on TVG in 2004 when they began to mess with the listings format. And I have yet to even handle a TVG since its 2005 revamp. The last couple of times that I bought a TV magazine of any kind was in 2011 (whe...

Re: Detroit TV, 1975 and 1984
Great to see some of those tv listings............I loved that era of local tv. WXON20 took over in the 70's as the place for kids tv from WKBD50 which was the king the 60's .I remember watching the marvel superheroes/Batman/Ultraman/Green Hornet on WXON. Speaking of WJBK around 1968 they used to s...

Re: You can't argue with a sick mind...
Somehow I can't get the YouTube videos to work on my browser, but I'm sure I know what this is. Kermit Schafer had it on one of his Blooper albums. The recording itself was a sort of gag made by whoever produced the ad for personal enjoyment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKpDZigvoVo I recall ano...
