Long Songs

Are There any long songs that people are especially fond of? I don't want To Put To many rules around this but I guess a cutoff point could be roughly seven minutes. A Couple Of Mine: Jessica / Allman Brothers Marque Moon / Televison. (The guitar jam in it is as hard as anything I've ever heard. I a...

You might have better luck with an all polish station

I Agree. I am not sure it its viable but the Hispanic population in this city does deserve one.

Did Detroit ever have an all Polish radio station, like during the 30' till the 50's.?

Congrats Ferris State

Ferris State beat Valdosta State, (GA) 58 - 17 to win the NCAA Division 2 National Championship. On a very unrelated note Ferris State has Michigan's only Optometry school. Go Bulldogs.

Re: Most Annoying Commercials

Has anyone seen the ad where the girl tries to save to snowman in the freezer? It's not exactly annoying as much as it is weird, perplexing and slightly emotional.

I also wasn't knocked out by the first two episodes but the Payne Ponderosa is a funny name for a bad car. A lot of it seemed a little to labored.

Re: Mike Nesmith has taken the Last Train To Clarksville

I checked the WDET website just now. Rob Reinhart just played Mike Nesmith's recient version of Different Drum on his Accoustic Cafe about a half hour ago. Has Mike Nesmith ever played the Ark in Ann Arbor?

Re: Mike Nesmith has taken the Last Train To Clarksville

A memorable music video, almost Zappa-esque. RIP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi0b8tcCQSE I remember see this on MTV when we first got it in 1982. (I called it the why can't i stop watching this phase. It kind of pissed of my family.) Even from a somewhat young age, seven or eight, he was my fav...

Metro Times

Is the Metro Times available in physical format or is it just online? (I'm assuming the later.) I used to see it at the Library but not since the start of the Pandemic.

Re: WADL lands My Network TV

In the early 2000's TV Land also used to show MacGyver. It used to be a running joke on The Simpsons that Selma and Patti were devoted MacGyver fans. After Richard Dean Anderson made an appearance the joke was written out. (you also don't hear about Grandpa Simpsons love of Matlock anymore either.)

Re: WADL lands My Network TV

The original Macgyver is the Heroes & Icons subchannel. Usually WMYD, (or WXON as it was known back then) showed more hour long action shows than WKBD, especially on the weekends.

Re: Takes Place In Detroit

[ If expanded to 'Takes Place in Michigan', the new MTV series "Mayor of Kingstown" on Paramount is set in a made-up Michigan town of (you guessed it) Kingstown, but the actual locations are in Ontario, sort of near Taronna (Kingston, & Brantford).
