Re: Phil Tower is latest iHM budget cut victim
Radio is a shell of its former self and I told Phil last night that I was glad he was out. There is no respect for talent, tenure or passion just far away voice trackers, squeezing nickels and nationwide playlists. Phil will certainly land on his feet and radio will continue its inexorable slide int...

Re: Connie on MIX 95.7
Horrible news. From the few encounters I had with her while at TownSquare I always found her to be a kind, genuine person and just as outgoing as she sounded on the air. Morning radio in GR is diminished without her.

It's been a while but would he have been Prod Director at GRD back in the early 90s?

Re: The Ghost Of Bill Kennedy
My friends and I would always try to call in when Bill took live phone calls. Bill hated getting questions like "what ever happened to the Three Stooges?" so if we were lucky enough to get through we always asked him that.

"...take over for Townsquare as the #2 group in the market by April"? Sorry, but I don't see that happening.

Re: Jay Allen has cancer
Well, a set of snow tires certainly beats the $2.99 clock radio they gave us as a "Christmas bonus" the year after LAV/KLQ merged. That being said, Jay is a terrific broadcaster and an even better person. All the best to him and his family.

Re: Looks like the Orbit Room is finally toast; share your memories here!
Back in my days at LAV we had the Black Crowes come to town for the first time and I remember the tickets were only $8 - great show! Also, in our brief run of "new music" we had the Rollins Band there around '91 and that was a standout for me.
