Re: JIM PRICE STINKS!!!

Hey DAC, do they still have 'home' and 'visitor' feeds for MLB on XM radio, or only the 'home' feed? That would give you only a 50/50 chance to hear these guys before they retire.

Re: Network programming preemptions by individual stations

WSPD-TV (precursor of WTVG) did not air the original SNL's from 75-79; a 'summary show' was the first time it was broadcast in Toledo. Had to rely on the rare times that Buckeye remembered to switch the CH4 feed from WSPD to WDIV (or was it that yet?). They had the Storer Broadcasting "good ethics c...

DAC wrote: "Spring is near! " - what, I can't hear you, did you say "The Sheriff is Near?"

Can't believe the Jim Price thread has returned- still not as popular as Shay's Sweater Puppy threads back in her day.

Re: Detroit/Toledo Big Three schedule for 12/10/1980

rugrats, I think WDHO did play the Star Spangled Banner at 1AM and announce their STL call letters and their 1MW of aural and video power, IIRC.
That being said, I don't remember Benny Hill ever being on WDHO- I always remember watching it from the Detroit stations on Buckeye Cable.

Re: Nash fm 93-1 WDRQ

Heck, Adrian wins 'small market station of the year' every damn year- WDRQ can't do that.

Re: Travel Back In Time To Buy A Good TV Antenna

Yeah, if only the FCC would have used TVFool to realize that they needed to give VHF stations a bucket load more ERP to reach their old analog contours, but instead they used FCC-FOOL.

Re: Old cable lineups

To pick-up on 1980 vintage Buckeye CATV, yes, two cables, A and B. The B cable had the stereo simulcasts for MTV in 82 or so, plus the Detroit FM stations, it had a Toledo Police scanner on one FM channel, and the NOAA Weather Radio as an FM channel as well. They would sell you a splitter and a 75oh...

Re: Travel Back In Time To Buy A Good TV Antenna

Now that we're finally getting our antennae all rigged-up after the HDTV swap and the nice new subchannels being added, I'm really scared that this FCC BS cellphone DTV spectrum auction for their wireless buddies is going to see the demise of a few OTA stations and one or two double-up on one tower,...

Re: Then, there's this.....

The economy is doing a balancing act, and parents need money for school supplies and clothes, not to be stuffing excessive profits into oil companies that raised gasoline 90 cents a gallon in less than 10 days time when oil is less than $43 a barrel. Gasoline was over $100 a barrel the first time we...
