Re: 1320 WDMJ Marquette VERY weak
When I was in college I remember WDMJ's brief, (1988/1989) AOR period. No other programming I'll ever hear will ever be as cool. 30 years later I still miss it, (especially when I listen to WCSX.) My memories go back to riding the bus in the early 80s to school where they only had AM radios. We use...

Re: 1320 WDMJ Marquette VERY weak
This won't be a helpful suggestion for mobile listening, but if you haven't invested in an upgraded AM antenna for your home or office receiver, you might consider doing so. I've been using a Terk AM Advantage for long-distance reception for years. I can pick up Escanaba's WCHT and WDBC reliably on...

1240 is gone. Turned in their license. Can you get WXYT 1270 AM at Night? There's a null toward WMKT Charlevoix and then a minor lobe out your way. https://www.fccdata.org/?lang=en&facid=28627 Zoom out on the map. Looks like you might be able to hear it sometimes. Probably a lot of WMKT interferenc...

Re: 1320 WDMJ Marquette VERY weak
They are on 200 watts STA into a long wire STA because of a tower failure. https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101817676&formid=911&fac_num=24448 In the good old days, they were 5000 watts Days, 1000 watts Night with a 3 tower DA at Night. Then...

1320 WDMJ Marquette VERY weak
What is the problem with this station now? I'm told that is the only local radio station broadcasting Detroit Red Wings games, and their signal can't even make it to Negaunee in the middle of the day. It only gets out a mile or so at night. I mean what is the point even?? Seriously though, does anyb...

Re: WIAN Dead
Marquette already has a bazillion FM stations available. At some point, I suspect we'll see a thinning of the herd, much like what's occurred recently in northern lower Michigan. A single broadcaster only needs so many signals; after a certain point, the "law of diminishing returns" sets in. I can ...

Active Rock comes to Marquette!!! 99.5 K-Rock - New Rock for a New Generation. Love their Facebook cover photo!!! https://www.facebook.com/995krock/ It's about time Marquette joins everybody in the 21st century...no joke. This should have happened 20 years ago, rather than the barrel full of oldies...

Looks like 94.1 is Soft Hits "The Breeze" while 99.5 is playing hard rock as "K-Rock"
I noticed this a few days ago.

Re: Marquette Stations to be Split Among Related Groups
I wish these station/cluster owners would put a little more effort into their actual signal volume and equalization. It is ridiculous how barely anybody can get it right. It's already hard enough to listen to too many ads and too much of the same music across most of the stations, but it's way worse...

Re: 97.1 WGLQ - when did they segue to Hot AC?
I remember "The Magic of the Great Lakes" and "Magic 97" pretty much most of my life. I feel like I was coherent with radio by the early 80s and can't seem to remember any other ID they used back then.

Re: Local Owner Buying Two UP Radio Stations
I think I saw somewhere that the Marquette cluster of stations are for sale/sold too. I sure hope the new owners do something different with the sound processing on those stations because it is way off the way it is right now, and has been since they were acquired by the previous owner.
