Re: Right to work ends Tuesday (13th)
My union dues are the best money I spend and it's about the cheapest regular bill that I have. No freeloading, pay your dues.

Re: Local 4 Photographer Contract
Fox 2's reporters and anchors are in a different union than the technicians, the reporters union contract establishes minimums in salary and sets jurisdictional rules, one reason you won't see MMJs at Fox 2. The individual reporters then have their own contracts that must adhere to the rules spelled...

Re: C'mon Channel 4...
So a bonified legal expert gave 4 two different answers to this detail. Walker and the producer/writer can be excused for the mix up. This is not common knowledge and I had questions about concurrent or consequent sentences myself and I've been in the courthouse for the duration of this trial and co...

Re: Channel 7 provides fake traffic detour to avoid WB M-59 accident
Just spitballing here but instead of spending Billion$ on roads and lanes and trying to figure out how to make automobile traffic flow, how about investing in real useful public transportation? Starting with light rail all the way up Woodward to Pontiac and then up Gratiot, Grand River, Michigan to ...

Re: Local news outlets are obsessed with this idiotic "story"
Since it costs the billboard company nothing to put these messages up for 30 seconds every 5 minutes, it could be themselves doing it and the mystery is continued with their refusal to answer media questions about it. It has been great exposure to that outdoor advertiser.

Re: Local 4 Photographer Contract
As for pay, 4 pays the most for camera, followed by 2 and then 7, 62 is in the ballpark. It was all close and there were differences based on being freelance or staff. I don't know what 2 and 4 pay for per diem photographers and currently 7 has no per diems working, but I've been told one of the po...

Re: Local 4 Photographer Contract
Top scale photographer is less than 7 and about the same as 2, 62 only has a few unionized photogs and I feel like they are paid comparable to 7 but I am not positive. 2 and 4 are represented by NABET, 7 and 62 are represented by IBEW but different locals. WXYZ's technicians; photographers, editors,...

Advertisers won't pay for hash marks, so they dumped the List and paid a few sheckles for Extra and Mario Lopez.

Re: Sinclair getting into show creation
Scripps tried to force feed its stations with bad syndications and it failed miserably. The odd thing is that they could produce quality shows for HGTV and Food Network but after selling those properties they couldn't do it anymore.

Oh Rhonda, the stories I could tell. I believe the Mayo Clinic is in Rochester, MN, probably a lot of female visitors from Texas visit the city to get top notch health care not available in Texas and other states anymore.

Re: Sinclair’s Sports Channels Prepare Bankruptcy, Putting Team Payments at Risk
Amazon as a white knight for Diamond would keep MLB and the teams patient enough to give RSMs another year. It also would be a setback for the unionization of the broadcast technicians that put those shows on the air, Amazon's hostility towards unions is well known.

Re: Sinclair’s Sports Channels Prepare Bankruptcy, Putting Team Payments at Risk
I think MLB and the teams decided it was too late to negotiate new deals and build the infrastructure to broadcast a full season in a little over 3 months, thus decided to give Diamond one more year to figure it out. Cleveland and Dallas must have gotten a jump start in getting a new broadcast netwo...
