Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?
Why do I feel like this thread about the 62 news might last longer than the newscast eventually will? Once it starts, someday. Eventually. Supposedly. My 85-year old dad loves the news though. Between Fox 2 and Local 4, he will watch 12 hours about storm coverage. He’ll probably watch this one too. ...

Re: WXYZ Woodward dream cruise
It’s a public street. Couldn’t any channel simply show the darn thing, make a TV special out of it? That's a good point. It's interesting to think about which events get coverage and on which channels. It at least used to be true that the NAIAS charity preview was covered live by both 4 and 7 at th...

Re: Big Ten talk
Kinda surprised OSU was challenged, but they will get better offensively for sure. OSU surprised me too. They did not look that good for 3 quarters. But I still fully expect them to become their usual selves. Still though, I anticipated more from them. There is a tiny part of me that is starting to...

Re: WXYZ Woodward dream cruise
For years channel 7 has not figured out that the WDC is about the cars and people, they have tried singing contest's and all kinds of other stunts to keep from covering the Cruise. It might be nice if another network tried to take this away from 7. It’s a public street. Couldn’t any channel simply ...

Yes, it’s so true. The MSU obsession with UM is kind of creepy.

Re: Brian Williams leaving MSNBC
Ditching cable this week and picking up ESPN+ and calling it good. My only concern is some of these football games going streaming only. I find myself watching far less sports now. I know I could go out and find everything streaming somewhere. But lately I find myself not even caring enough to do t...

Re: WXYZ Woodward dream cruise
The live telecast of the NAIAS charity preview, which I believe usually airs on channel 4, is even more vapid than channel 7's Dream Cruise broadcast. How about the 2-hour pre show to the Freedom Festival fireworks? The corporate interviews are like clockwork. Blue Cross Blue Shield, ally bank, Gar...

Re: Brian Williams leaving MSNBC
I would have never pegged Brian Williams a late-night host. It is just a matter of time before all hosts be femmes. As far as the late night exits, I know it's been quite some time, and much of the true talent has already exited... still, I wonder whatever happened to that weirdo Craig Ferguson? In...

Re: Brian Williams leaving MSNBC
... Corden and Kimmel are stepping down soon. Something I did not know. I know Corden is but I think Kimmel will stick around. Every year Kimmel keeps claiming he is burned out, and might quit soon. Then he has a bunch of guest hosts in the summer. But then he keeps coming back. Not sure if he is g...

Re: Brian Williams leaving MSNBC
He is a funny guy, and I think he would make a decent late night host. Corden and Kimmel are stepping down soon. In the book, The War For Late Night by Bill Carter, this was mentioned. NBC gave consideration to giving Brian Williams the Late Night program when Conan was taking over The Tonight Show.

Re: UCLA & USC to join Big Ten by 2024
What if the BIG 10 championship game was USC vs. UCLA? With the game being played in Indianapolis. Damn, that's something I never considered! They'd most likely be in the same division, but still.... I could see them moving the game around a bit more. The Big 10 did a couple of their basket...

Re: UCLA & USC to join Big Ten by 2024
If they pick 4 more of the PAC-12, I see Cal, Stanford (the SF Bay Area market), Oregon, and Washington. The Arizona's, Utah, and Colorado fit with the Big-12. The Buffs were a Big 12 school for years. Oregon State and Wash St to the MWC. ND will protect their TV rights. I feel like Arizona could s...

Re: UCLA & USC to join Big Ten by 2024
This completely guts rivalries on the west coast and Midwest. Every game is a bowl game now. What disgusting greed. Why even watch bowl games in December and January? They don’t mean shit now. As a kid, New Year’s Day was wall-to-wall football viewing. Citrus Bowl, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bow...
