Useless College Degrees Numerically Ranked

From American Thinker. These are the types of degrees from colleges frequently referred to as "Party Schools", that my acquaintances eventually had to go back to a serious minded school to get a useful degree, like Walsh. Just to clarify for Matt, I do not consider UM a Party School, and Walsh doesn...

Re: Fucking Covid

Apparently, TC Talks thinks Galileo is a Mafia Hit Man, just because the name Galileo sounds Italian. He doesn't seem to know who he was.

What a bunch of obnoxious people here, who think the world revolves around their home towns. Hope Galileo sets you straight soon.

Re: History of WLW

WLW History Card. Just the administrative record, but it chronicles the difficulties WLW had trying to be 500 kW, not the least of which is going directional to protect CFRB 690. Then the Canadian government made CFRB give up 690 Class I-A for a much reduced 1010, supposedly Class I-B. Then they mov...

Re: Fucking Covid

Ah, well, we set a record for the number of visitors through our airport this holiday season. It would stands to reason that a highly transient area would have more covid. Locals usually stay clear of the tourists except those who work in food or lodging. And after the emergency door blew off that ...

Re: Fucking Covid

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought that Anthony Fauci and his friends across the sea had designed a new virus that is spread exclusively by and specifically targets heterosexuals for death. I'm sure they're working on it.

Re: Open Letter to The Grateful Dead Station

The way I heard it, the selling prices are too high for what most are willing to pay. But a little (actually a lot) of Winter armchair technical consulting over the last few years, and combining stories heard from some of the biggest radio aficionados statewide reveals a lot. "Messrs K and H assure ...

Re: History of WLW

how many towers did that pattern need ?? I haven't found a description of the DA yet, but it is a strange looking pattern. Maybe two electrically far spaced towers, and a third drop wire element suspended in between? Pattern almost looks physically impossible, without a large number of towers, like...

Re: Open Letter to The Grateful Dead Station

Rumor has it that another silent group of stations will institute an all Moby Grape format, which will debut one morning soon at 8:05. Another rumor has it that the other silent group is a pile of dysfunction and have a greater chance of losing yet more licenses to the FCC. The only way to top The ...

Re: History of WLW

WLW had to go to 500000 watts directional to protect CFRB, then on 690, in Toronto, in WLW's short lived "Superpower" experiment, after complaints from the operators of CFRB. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/proxy/QSgmU4-kTvRloCoMV6WxnpHU42qim6-vXCMRqrmBFtHOC-JeAHHxT1LQInkZir1kQxm1EIcw_F_oAl1ln-Ljy...

Robert Drohlich Obituary. WWOK Ownership Family. https://www.yourobserver.com/news/2015/jun/24/obituary-robert-drohlich/ Drohlichs sell WWOK in 1947 due to too many stations signing on in the area right after WW II. Re: RIP 1470

I just assumed 1470 in Flint came on the air first. WOHO Toledo signed on in 1954. A lot of the night pattern at WOHO was aimed at Lake Erie. Not exactly ideal. WWOK signed on in 1947. They went off. WCLC went on around 1952. WKMF came on in 1953. WOHO came on in 1954. So yes, 1470 in Flint came on...
