Re: Beautiful Music Stations in Detroit
WLDM 95.5 later became WCZY, and later WDEE/WLQV 1500 was WCZY and simulcasted Beautiful Music as I recall. Storer Broadcasting first flipped then WJBK-AM 1500 (and FM 93.1) to beautiful music in 1964. Keener 13 had quickly replaced WJBK and WXYZ as the Top-40 leader and WJBK had been beset by furt...

Re: Beautiful Music Stations in Detroit
Currently I am listening to a Beautiful Music station. It is WAVV/101.1 from Marco Island, Florida. The first song they played was an instrumental version of "I Love Paris." That was followed by Perry Como "And I Love You So." The third song was an instrumental. That was followed by "Our Day Will C...

Re: Windsor ratings are out; 89X is slipping again
To what extent does the WNUC-LP signal mess with CHYR's reception in Windsor? If the interference is significant, perhaps River is taking the place of Mix 96.7 as the workplace station of choice. Also was pleased to note Easy 101-3's downward trending in London. Not long ago that station was in the ...

Re: Radio: West Side vs. East Side
I too grew up in Macomb County and now live on the west side (Whitmore Lake to be exact). Some of my favorite radio stations growing up in the M-59 corridor during the late '90s were the out-of-market stations I could receive on the second adjacents to Detroit: CKSY (then on 95.1), 101.5 The River w...

CHOK flips back to Country
The new playlist seems almost like a Nash Icon type format - lots of '80s and '90s throwbacks, less bro and boyfriend country (though it is still there). It's like a mix of their sister stations in Wingham and Chatham. I would have preferred an all-classic format if they had to go back to country, b...

For somebody who claims to be so against bullying, he sure has no trouble making crass jokes about the LGBTQ community. World class hypocrite.

Re: 106.7 is no more
When I was growing up in the 90s/early 2000s, it was always a "which is better, KHQ or The Peak??" "If you stop at 106, you haven't reached THE PEAK. The difference is .7." - Liner from the mid- or late '90s. Peak was the edgier and more fun station (at least until they went Hot AC), but KHQ obviou...

Re: 80s, 90s, and now?
Doesn't WFMK brand as "'80s to Now"? Last I checked, many of the iHeart AC stations were branding that way as well.

Re: The End of 107.3 The Wave Cleveland
I caught the Port Huron line too. It has to be Port Clinton, unless the cities of Port Clinton and Huron merged and no one told us... Selling to K-Love is intriguing. I am not as up on the Cleveland market. Didn’t know they didn’t have a station. Does Rubber City have an AM in Cleveland or Akron th...

Re: The End of 107.3 The Wave Cleveland
They've been all Christmas since Thanksgiving Day at earliest. Mainly Smooth Jazz cuts, which for me is a refreshing change from hearing Band Aid every 90 minutes on WDOK or WMJI. Hoping for a Soft AC as WDOK is very hot as far as mainstream AC goes and seems to overlap with their sister station Q10...

Re: HD 2 and 3 stations
You would think a station would do an opposite format to take away from the competition. Ex WOMC would do a Metal type jukebox type or even a Big Band era format something not being done.Im sure you could sell some ad time even if its this hour of music brought to you by...…..blah blah company. Ter...

Re: HD 2 and 3 stations
So what is the point of the HD simulcast if they play the same thing on both channels? You know, since it's Digital, it's better (or potentially so). :P Possible also that in some situations the HD version might be less susceptible to background noise than the analog channel. " F. M. - No Static at...

Re: HD 2 and 3 stations
I have an HD radio, but have never hooked it up. Is 98.7 still offering Smooth Jazz on one of their HD channels? Last I checked, this was the HD2/3 lineup in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area: 92.3 HD2 - Jammin' (Classic Hip-Hop/R&B) 93.1 HD2 - Nash Icon 94.7 HD2 - normally Oldies, currently Christmas Mus...

Re: HD 2 and 3 stations
WRCJ-HD1, like all HD1 channels, is just a simulcast of the main (analog) signal. WRCJ does not have any HD side channels.
