I listened heavily to WIOG back in the 80's. A time when you knew all the songs they played...now I don't know what the hell is going on!
+1

Listened to them heavily also until Foxy 101 changed to Rock for a short time, then when the then Z93.5 signed on

Re: The End of my Walmart Years

I’m sure TT was joking.

The Wilder Rd Meijer in Bay City (that I frequent the most) pulled out about 4-6 self scan no limit checkouts within the past year and replaced them with cashier lanes. I’m assuming too much theft and not enough use. Good to see...

Despite damn near all of us wanting Mix 106.3 WGER to change formats, management at Alpha Media is apparently sticking with their low rated format. Alpha Media just posted a job opening for middays there. What are they seeing that we’re not?

Isn't the "Hell froze over" a lame annual story..???
I would expect nothing less than a lame story like this on TV5

Re: WalMart Radio

I googled Walmart radio. They have their own Facebook page, have live DJ’S and WallyWorld has provided toll free number for their associates to call in requests (Give us your name and store number!)

Re: WIOG is #1 in Saginaw-Bay City; WGER barely defeats Houghton Lake station

WGER should come in like gangbusters in Saginaw and Bay City. Their signal is no weaker than Wheelz (it's actually stronger than Wheelz in Bay City). Wheelz gets double the ratings of WGER on a consistent basis. WGER's ratings stink because their programming sounds bush league. Good point about KCQ...

It would be interesting to see what the actual ratings are if McDonald broadcasting (WKCQ, The Bay, Joe FM) still subscribed to this book. When they did, WKCQ was often number one in ratings.

Re: WBBL gone

Was reading a profile of Shep after the announcement was leaked last night. He’s apparently a workaholic who sleeps very little. Said that he was doing the Tigers telecasts last fall, would go home when they were done but work until 1am prepping for the next days telecast. He’d be back up at 4am for...

Re: The most unpardonable sin in Detroit sports over the past decade. Your nominee please?

In my opinion, the Tigers letting Max Scherzer walk away into free agency has to be right up there. You have to remember one thing - we offered him a 6 year, $144 million dollar contract and he turned us down in no time. He was looking at taxes and DC was his best bet. Additionally, he moved to the...

Starting to think that Shep WON’T be the play by play announcer considering that he was just announced to be the new morning host for a statewide morning sports show.... Re: Detroit needs another option for vintage Rock music

While I know that they would never do this in Detroit because of WCSX, Beasley just flipped a Tampa AC station to a “next generation of classic rock” station. https://987theshark.com/stream/WPBBFM/ Looking at their playlist, this is a station I’ll listen to when I’m down there in March. Currently st...

Re: Grayling Rocker

Are you sure Tantric has a song with that title? There was an obscure post-grunge band from the mid or late 90's with a song by that title (KLQ used to play it), but I never remember Tantric having a single with that title. You’re right - just did further digging - it’s by the band Tonic. Memory is...

Re: Grayling Rocker

TC - I listened to Bob’s station online yesterday for the first time in a while (I can pick them up OTA somewhat depending on weather conditions). Heard Tonic’s “Open up your eyes” being played. Haven’t heard that song in a long time but it’s 15+ years old. I like that oh wow factor like that - some...
