Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin

I am getting a 15-1 now in 720p. I think it is coming from WOOD-TV (RF 7). My TV doesn't tell me the source but I'm sure it is not coming from a WXSP low-power transmitter. WXSP is once again a subchannel of a full-power station. There is no 15-2 or 15-3.

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin

"These will be their ATSC 1.0 simulcasts: 15.1 MyNetworkTV will be on WOOD's signals 15.2 Cozi will be on will be on WXMI's signals 15.3 CourtTV Mystery will be on WWMT's signal" Can anyone confirm if 15.3 is actually CourtTV Mystery? I can't get that signal. If so, why would it need to move to WWM...

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin

I'll also guess that when the WOOD broadcast signal gets revised to include the fourth stream that will display as 15.1, it'll be in widescreen SD (standard definition; 480i), versus how today we receive the main WXSP in glorious 720p HD. Probably correct, but WWMT and stations in the Cadillac/Trav...

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin

Discontinued. WXSP can only be received on the numerous low-power transmitters now. WOOD-TV only has Bounce (.2) and Laff (.3) subchannels now.

Re: Which local radio station will have the courage to editorially defend serious gun control measures?.

Alcohol claims more victims yearly than mass shootings, so we should get tougher booze laws on the books as well. Two things, the gun laws on the books are not properly enforced so what makes anyone think new ones would be. Second, the time when radio stations do editorials, with the possible excep...

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin

I also noticed Cozi TV listed as 17.6 on both wikipedia and rabbitears, but it does not scan. I'm also out of range of any of the WXSP transmitters so it would be nice to check it out if WXMI did decide to add it.

Let the great subchannel realignment begin

Looks like the impact of the Scripps purchase of Ion Media is starting to show locally. As noted in another thread, Dabl is now duplicated on 41-2, pushing Get TV to 17-5. Court TV Mystery replaced Charge! on 17-4. Today is apparently WZPX's turn. 43-2 is Court TV. 43-3 is Grit. 43-4 is Laff. I assu...

The displaced gettv that had been on 41.2 doesn't seem to have a free source online, although a few of the streaming services such as Philo have it included.

41.2 -- Dabl replaced gettv late 1/31 or on 2/1. (From WOTV's Gun Lake area tower.)
Looks like Get TV landed on 17.5.

Where's the beef? If you've got the evidence, show it in court and claim your victory. If not, then STFU and accept your loss.

Re: There will be some very surprised people if West Michigan ever has a real disaster,

The best they can do is simulcast a TV station that actually does have news. I was chasing a tornado from Hamilton to Wyoming a while back and the only station with any information was WOOD, and that was only because they were rebroadcasting the TV-8 audio stream. We had an active tornado moving tow...

Re: Goodrich looks to transfer WPRR FM 90.1 to Tyrone Bynum

Why would anyone want it? Even in the best of times, it seemed to be off the air more than on. It's coverage is basically just the rural blueberry fields of NW Allegan county. The signal can reach into south Holland, but that is fringe.

Re: Any News On New WLLA OTA Signals?

I was getting WLLA relatively reliably here last spring. Haven't picked it up in the last month or so. The signal power was low but the quality was high so it was decent overall. I'll watch to see what happens. I did a scan tonight and don't see any changes yet. My issue lately is with WZZM. It was ...
