Re: Right to work ends Tuesday (13th)

Is any portion of Ann Arbor bus drivers in a union? School districts might outsource an entire function (like cafeteria services) as a cost save. If there is no union for you to join, not sure if the new law has to force you to join a union. We work for Durham Transportation. Teamsters local 243 is...

Re: Right to work ends Tuesday (13th)

Starting Tuesday in Michigan if you work under a CBA and are not currently in the union that ends Tuesday. Sign up or find a new job that isn't unionized. The texts and other notices where I work (Ann Arbor Public Schools bus driver, working under Durham Transportation) make it sound like come Tues...

My understanding is that it does not apply to public govt employee unions, like teachers unions.
This is true. But Michigan is low on the Government employee per capita list. So it does potentially apply to a lot folks.
Certainly where I work because we are private sector.

Re: Toby Keith dies

Very sad to hear of his passing. It's a stretch to describe myself as even a casual fan of country music, yet I enjoyed his style of county music. He was one of several artists from the 1990s & 2000s that I thought were great, who sadly, receive only sporadic airplay at best on contemporary country...

Maybe it’s replaced bowling as the sport for ex-bowlers.
We could add golf to that list. Darts too.
If people often drink beer and smoke while playing the "sport" its not much of a sport.

Some truth in there undoubtedly but until or unless they start blowing shit up its just people expressing opinions.

Re: UPS delivers 12,000 job cuts to management months after historic deal for unionized drivers

Hey Craig, UPS operates in 220 countries, flies 2200 flights a day, is the 3rd largest global import export brokerage, has 500,000 employees, probably 8,000 people just in accounting, and over 1200 facilities in the US alone. You might be over simplifying them a bit. https://about.ups.com/us/en/our...

Re: UPS delivers 12,000 job cuts to management months after historic deal for unionized drivers

12000 managers sounds like a case of too many chiefs not enough Indians. UPS makes its money by moving packages from point A to point B. Only people directly and physically involved in that actually generate income for the company. Take this box and get it to my daughter in Kentucky is what I am pay...

Re: Detroit Lions 2023

SOL is back from vacation. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory 20 people with 20 different reasons why they lost shell shocked fans wondering what the hell happened coaches making questionable decisions that impact the outcome SOL to me was never just about losing seasons. It is about the ways...

Re: First robin sighting of the year!

To interject some facts many Robins stay here all winter. They flock together in the winter and hang where than can find trees and shrubs with food sources like crabapples, hawthorns, holly, juniper, and others. Once spring arrives they split up and that is when we see them in our yards.

Maybe the Federal Government should try defending Texas against invasion per Article IV section 4 of the constitution and then the problem is solved.

But the subject of this thread is UM football, and there is a statue of a rape enabler STILL in front of the football building STILL named for him..
Actually the subject of this thread is the departure of the UM coach for the NFL.
You decided to make it about Bo Schembechler.

Re: DeSantis drops out

I don't make predictions but I will point out Trump has yet to win the popular vote in an election. I think the passionately hate Trump crowd is bigger than the passionately love Trump crowd by a fair amount. I think some number of people who voted for Trump in the past are done with him and won't v...
