Re: WGVU TV weaker up North since the last repack?

High-VHF was pretty bad for me last weekend. WOOD had dropouts. WWMT didn't even scan. I would try some more before reaching a conclusion. Back in the analog days you could sort of figure out what was happening by checking for distant stations. One might see some unfamiliar channels appear at this t...

Re: WOTV Post Repack

Reception of most stations is very bad out here today on all my antennas, but WOTV comes in strong. WOTV fixed its problems out here for sure. It might even be my strongest signal now. I’ll know more when this current anomaly passes.

Re: WOTV Post Repack

I'm not able to check right now but should be able to later this week. I did see the update online so I've been itching to try it out. Based on the documents and my strong reception of WZPX, I have high expectations for the new WOTV signal. I just wish WWMT could be better out here. Milwaukee channe...

On the off chance that anyone follows my Live Bandscan contributions: https://m.rabbitears.info/index.php?request=tvdx_grid&tid=10378502&tno=1&sort=rfch&hours=168&tzone=ET&unit= Actually I do watch the Live Bandscan map and am interested in participating myself. I have a low-power FitPC I can dedic...

I miss analog pictures. They would reveal so much about the underlying problem. Now one can only guess.

Not really. Not here at least. You can post only because the moderator lets you post. Once he loses patience with you, you have no recourse.

Re: (Ultra Geeky warning): NOAA weather radio for GR area is about to move to new TX site

We were perhaps a bit overserved here in the middle. 162.475 has always been the best signal here in Saugatuck--beating the closer 162.425. 162.550 is still receivable.

Re: Amash for President...?

What is the POINT of having local political reporters if, by 11 am, they still don't have a story up about the local congressman probably running for the highest office in the land? It'd be like The Press being asleep when Jerry Ford was sworn in and, in fact, The Press covered it very well back th...

Re: WOTV Post Repack

I wonder if Disney even cares about OTA. Even though they have two full-power ABC affiliates here, neither one is able to adequately serve the southwest corner of the DMA right now. Kind of sad when you think about it.

Re: WOTV Post Repack

Thanks for the info!

The one station that could really use a fill-in translator out here is WWMT. I never quite got why they wanted channel 8. WMVS is really powerful and that frequency floats across the lake easily.

WOTV Post Repack

Has there been any news on WOTV's signal lately? Before repack, they were one of my best signals in Saugatuck. Their STA is about to expire (April 3?). WZPX is coming in great so I assume this is just WOTV's temporary antenna height and pattern. I expect their signal to return soon out here, but am ...

Re: RePack Phase 8 started

It’s not multi path, but actually the top of the tower swaying in the wind. It’s the same as if you were moving you receiving antenna around by several feet. When WKBD was on 14 they were on the lowest UHF channel (longest wavelength) so the effect would be noticed the least. I also always assumed ...

Re: WZPX (ION) files app to move closer to Grand Rapids

WZPX is coming in clearly now on the lakeshore near Saugatuck. I have an attic antenna with no amplifier, so the lower broadcast channel probably helps some too, but overall, the new tower location appears to be a winner here. It was always tough to get them on 43. Even with the lower antenna height...

Re: Kudos to Storm Team 8

I was watching the web sites for 3, 8, 13 and 17 while watching channel 8 on TV. Channel 8's web site was the only one that made the tornado warning their top news story on the home page. The others had links to severe weather information on their home page, but if you didn't explore those links, yo...
