Re: Ron Cameron's Restaurants?

He has a compulsive need to keep searching for another restaurant. Then he's probably a very difficult person to deal with in negotiations, based on his personality and the fact that he's always "working out a few more details." The last I heard he was supposed to open up something on December 1 but...

Re: Worst Christmas Songs on the Radio

We should feel thankful that WNIC doesn't play that hip, modern, alternative Christmas music that is played on the Comcast Music Choice Seasons station.

Re: Best Christmas Songs...

I can never get tired of: "No Place Like Home for the Holidays," by Perry Como. "Holly Jolly Christmas," by Burl Ives. "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," by Bing Crosby. Well, anything by Bing, but that song's my favorite. "Do You Hear What I Hear," by Martina McBride. "Christmas Waltz,"...

Local sportscast coverage of national sports news

Have local sportscasts decided not to show any national sports news except for championship results? I turned on Channel 7 this morning to hear about the big college football games yesterday, and they had nothing. Same thing on Channel 2. Didn't check Channel 4. This is something that has gone on fo...

Re: What Happened to Breanne Palmerini at WXYZ?

My Comcast information blurb for Channel 7 news still shows her name, months after she left. They also still show Kacie Hollins, who's gone.

Re: Worst Christmas Songs on the Radio

Anything by Mannheim Steamroller or Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They bludgeon Christmas songs in a way that completely destroys the original intent of the song. I can handle most of the others at least once a season, because it wouldn't seem like Christmas without them. But the Mannheim and Trans-Sibe...

Re: Best Detroit stations of all time

I'd be happy to return to the 80s, with full-time classical music on WQRS, great talk radio on 1270 with David Newman and Mark Scott, nearly everything on WJR (Tigers, J.P., Mike Whorf, Jay Roberts, Sketches and Comments), Famous Coachman putting me to bed every Saturday night on WDET, Dick Purtan i...

Re: Radio And the year you Graduated.

On a similar note, I recently created a playlist of music from my senior year of high school (76-77). It's amazing how much the music takes you back. The playlist includes music from: Songs in the Key of Life, Steve Wonder New World Record, ELO Leftoverture, Kansas Day at the Races, Queen Hotel Cali...

Re: Radio And the year you Graduated.

I graduated in 1977 in Indiana listening to a fairly good FM rock station (WNAP). A month after graduation, my family moved to Michigan and I discovered what rock radio could really sound like as I discovered WABX, WWWW, and WRIF.

Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!

As much as I like 98.7, at times it feels like they should change their call letters to WBLD, for weepy ballads. WBLD is licensed to the West Bloomfield School District, so maybe...

Re: Mike Valenti - We get it

Tried listening to show today, we get it, don't need the constant reminder (the venting and rage on the local teams to create material for the show/ or the new podcast) or reading texts to create the rage Local teams stink right now, we know If they win or lose, same constant reminder I remember Da...

Re: Ron Cameron vs. Anthony Fenech ?

I haven’t heard the podcast from yesterday’s show (posting of Ron’s WDTK shows has been spotty lately), but one thing I do know: if you stiff Ron, he absolutely SHREDS both the show producer that day (“Call him back!!! Leave a voice mail!!!) and THEN the guest that blew him off gets mercilessly ske...

Re: 98.7 Song Requests

I’ve always believed and maybe because it’s my growing up years but the 70’s were the greatest decade for music but than again that my opinion ,I’m not saying 60’s were bad they were great and I love the New Wave 80’s as well I remember listening to WLBS 102.7 during the New Wave craze and to New M...

Re: All Christmas Music

They seem to playing more remakes than the original songs, like:

This Christmas
Happy Christmas (War is Over)
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

I also haven't heard Bing Crosby's White Christmas yet—is that a song that they reserve for after Thanksgiving?
