Conrad on Jethro
I was listening to Conrad on Jethro-FM today. It's nice to hear a guy who cares for his radio station, cares for his audience, and cares for the music he's playing, while also having some fun. It's refreshing to hear a local guy, doing local radio, the way it's meant to be done.

LAV Yesterday
Anybody else notice several hours of dead air on LAV yesterday afternoon/evening. I don't know what the problem was, but it's highly unusual for this to happen at LAV. Usually a pretty dependable operation.

Re: What a wonderful sports day!!!
Unfortunately for anyone who calls themselves a Lions fan, this has been happening ever since the Ford family took over the franchise in 1963. Every 3-4 years, get rid of one shit show, and bring in the next one.

Wow, I've worked with Phil in the past, and have known him for almost 40 years. He's a quality guy who knows his stuff. Hope he is able to find other work in the market.

Re: 3 Grand Rapids stations were dead air on Sunday afternoon
I noticed this too around 3PM. Actually it was 5 stations and all were in the Townsquare building. The above mentioned 3 plus 95.7 WLHT and the translator for 1410 AM on 104.9. The transmitters were on the air, but there was no audio. Checked again about 3:20 and the audio was back on all 5 stations...

Re: BIG 101.3 FM — Fun Hits You Know
After listening for several hours Saturday Night, Sunday Morning/afternoon. My observations, (FWIW). They seem to cover the years 1964-1979. I only heard one song pre 64. Twist and Shout by the Isley Brothers (1962) and one song post 1979, Working My Way Back To You by the Spinners (1980). I heard s...

Re: Someone's got to say it, CONRAD'S BACK!
I am not a big fan of country music, but I enjoy what they are doing over at Jethro-FM. They are probably my 3rd favorite radio station in the market. : ). Glad to hear Conrad is back on the air, even if it means going from 320,000 watts on B-93 to a 500 watt daytime AM and a couple of 250 watt tran...

Re: Tony Clark has passed away.
I am saddeded to hear about the passing of Tony. I never met him but did exchange a few e-mails with him the past several years. I am familiar with his work at WZZR, WODJ, and at WOAP. He was extremely passionate about the radio business and had a wealth of knowledge. Tony, you will be missed.

Denis Prior
I don't have any of the details, but information I have is that former WLHT morning personality Denis Prior has passed away after dealing with several medical issues the past few years. Dennis and Nanette replaced Dave and Geri at WLHT in 2006 and Denis was there until 2009. Denis was also morning p...

Re: Lions refuse to work today because cops are scum
The Lions are not working today. Hmm, I've been watching them since about 1960 and they don't seem to work on Sunday afternoons most of the time.

Re: SiriusXM’s Sonny Fox has passed away
Sonny Fox aka Jay Walker worked at WGRD Grand Rapids from 1968-70. First doing the morning show in '68 and moving to afternoons in '69. With his sidekick George Gump (kind of a Jim Shorts type charachter before there was a Jim Shorts) He also was lead singer for the Jay Hawkers on their minor 1966 M...

Re: 102.5 trades in Reality for R&B
They need to fix their audio on the FM if they expect anybody to listen to it. Very low modulation and not in stereo. The AM sounded pretty good when I tuned it in yesterday, but it's been off the air more than on in the past few weeks.

Re: 1680 WPRR AM
I hear 1680 is back on the air today, tuned in just after 12 noon, expecting to hear Thom Hartman, but all I got was urban music on both the AM and the FM translator.
