Re: Why can't WHNE go to UHF 30?

How far does 51 CHCH-2 out of London actually reach? I have never picked them up on a scan, or even seen a weak signal. They are suppose to move to 14 where WKBD 50 was. I wonder why WHNE couldn't actually be located at 14.

Re: New channel frquencies

So CW 50 switched over during the night, so I decided to do a scan this morning to bring them back to my living room TV. I picked up 11 WTOL and 13 WTVG from Toledo during the scan, but I have a feeling this was just do to doing the scan a sunrise and this is not going to be a normal thing. Other th...

Re: 62.3 DABL ???

Also Decades doesn't want to be on LD or low power station that won't be carried on the local cable networks, so that does limit which channels can carry them. That pretty much leaves 38 WADL and 20 WMYD as the two best options to pick it back up.

Re: WLPC Moved to 28

Did they move fully? I still see them at 40 as a weak signal, but not at 28. My Channel Master DVR which allows me to manually scan channels without having to do a full rescan, so I can check signal strength and quality.

Re: Unique Radio Experiences

I found the interview with Mike Halloran where he talks about Radio's in Motion, mostly about his time with WDET. I was too young to remember his early shows in the late 70's, but from 83 on I think Mike Halloran introduced me to much of my favorite bands and songs. http://detroitpunkarchive.com/med...

Re: Unique Radio Experiences

Following Mike Halloran's "Radios in Motion" from station to station in the 80s. Listening to the launch of "The Cutting Edge of Rock" in September of 1990 on 88.7 where from 8Pm till Midnight it was a completely different radio station. Then watching it grow bigger and bigger till it took over the ...

Re: WOW FM?

I remember the creation and demise of this station. From "the how to kill the fox?" calls and "I got friends in low places", to the countdown, then the rotation of comedy album bits and parodies, to the start of trying to do FM talk radio. I would tune in when I wanted something different, and actua...

Re: How Wheels 106.7 programs by the hour

It seems to be Greater Media reacting to the competition. Since they own both WRIF and WCSX they had the rock market in Detroit wrapped up. But now they have someone trying to the pick up the audience from both their stations, by being right between the two playlistwise.

Re: How to program Wheels 106.7 by the hour

Not to mention, the average Schmuck may not be music nerds or radio nerds like us. Agree or not, and I hate the comparison, but when you go to McDonald's, you want a burger, fries and a coke. If McDonald's started serving lasagna instead of burgers, people would stop coming. Bingo Problem corporate...

Re: How to program Wheels 106.7 by the hour

The corporate consolidation of radio has pretty much killed radio. Since the late 90s radio has steadily gotten worse and worse. I use to have favorite radio stations, my go to stations on my presets, stations I would proudly put bumper stickers on my car. Radio homogenization has made for smaller a...

Because corporate radio has no idea where to put blues rock if it isn't Tom Petty.

Re: How to program Wheels 106.7 by the hour

Yeah after basically seeing their playlist laid out with the WLLZ 500 their most played artists are; AC/DC, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Def Leppard, Guns N Roses, Pink Floyd. You will probably hear 6 to 8 of these bands every hour. The Rest of the hour will be a song fr...

Re: WLLZ 500

I don't know why you people waste your time with corporate radio. I really only listen to the radio in the car. My phone is now being used for navigation and traffic app most of the time. The other times I am too lazy to hook the phone up to the radios aux port. The car does have satellite radio, b...
