Re: Over the Air 4k channels
Can 3.0 support a shitload of audio-only channels in addition to video, and uses less than the 6MHz channel?

Re: RIP WRVF-HD3 The Breeze
I thought Sunny wasn't half bad. Wasn't that the national feed? Maybe the HD inventors are charging big bucks for using the HD subchannels and these commercial free subs. So iHeart told them to F-off on their HD royalty fees??

Ted Striker: "When Kramer hears this, the shit is gonna hit the fan"! (scene goes from cockpit to Air Traffic Control Room, where some sloppy brown PlayDoh hits the blades of an old 1940s fan.) Movie: Airplane

Re: RIP WRVF-HD3 The Breeze
Morons like me have one. 101.5 HD-3 was given no promotion that I know off, and I listened to it just Wedneday night. Maybe they'll give us the Dayton Classic AT40 channel? Also, why, when WSPD has TOH ID, do they say "WRVF-HD2, Toledo" in 1 second and at -6dB? Why not let people know it's on their ...

Re: Andrew Z
Have to use 'Alexa' to listen to WAKT. Music shows are truly local and old school freeform. Andrew Z would not be welcome there, as he cannot pay to get air time, he cannot mention anything that can produce money (not even a car wash) because of the strict rules for LPFM's to keep their license, I d...

Re: Roberta Jasina Loses her job
Age discrimination is real. Interesting, I was at the same place for 34 years, and the top 3 seniority people got cut when new owners came in. It's bullcrap. Then, you're trying to get another job and you have tons of experience, but all they look at is what year you graduated from college, do the m...

106.1 has several local music programs in the evening on the weekends that are unique, and commercial free.

Re: 105.5 WQQO Toledo
If Cumulus wants office radios tuned-in, WRQN isn't that station anymore. River isn't that station for a decade. Going back to a 'Star 105' '3WM' Soft Adult on 105.5 could bring in the office crowds and the older demo that doesn't like the 80's on 93.5 and dropped the River (WLQR 101.5) back in 1991...

Re: Andrew Z
The LPFM on 106.1 (which does need a tower and 99 more watts) probably doesn't want to lose it's license with any of AndrewZ's stuff, so I'd say he's more likely going to be online with Towpath radio or something like that.

Re: 98.5/940am The Legend
I'd suggest iHeart get's rid of "Kenny Rogers' Gambler" format on 1230 and WCWA goes back to music with the same format as 940 Lima. Denny Moon could always make the station sound sweet with proper audio processing, so that would be a nice change. Heck with the ratings Q105 gets these days, that cou...

Re: 94.1fm Toledo Ohio
I believe the FCC lists 103.3 and 94.1 as translators of 1520 WPAY, so the translators would have to stay with the AM broadcast. Actually the 1520 signal is pretty decent in Toledo for 400W/500W from Perrysburg and could probably get by with only one of the two translators.

Re: NFL Football on Toledo radio
If broadcast radio wants to remain relevant, major league sports on a local is a good way. Also, some stations play "filler" online during a sportscast

Re: New round of iHeart cuts
I assume the not so well maintained and programmed Dayton HD-2 station IS the national feed, much like the Detroit WNIC-HD2 is the feed for "Sunny".

Re: New round of iHeart cuts
Dayton sounds like they have a lot of (free) interns. Not impressed with their work. Not like the 1970's at CKLW or WJR. In Dayton, one of their FM HD-2 channels generates the national iHeart feed for the Classic American Top 40 shows, and that is frequently screwed-up, nothing like listening to #19...
