Re: Emily Schuitema Leaving WOOD TV Weather Team

Watching Emily's broadcast right now. She seems to have abandoned the short, choppy sentences that are Ellen Baca's trademark. Emily's speech pattern sounds much more natural now. Good Luck Emily!!

Re: 1480 & 850 Shutting Down

It's also really too bad WGVU-FM couldn't preserve at least a remnant of the format with a weekend specialty show or something. Bob Becker today mentioned he will still be working on projects at grand valley. perhaps there might be some small-scale offering in the works. Nothing short of 24/7 oldie...

Re: 1480 & 850 Shutting Down

As a long time listener, this came as a gut punch to me. "Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone?" So much for GVSU providing a public service to the local community. Not only local, but the signal also skips to Europe and listeners stream the music world wide...

Re: Real Oldies / WGVU is going away in January

From a listener's standpoint, I love that station and tune in well over 30 hours a week with the Countdown being my favorite. But from a business standpoint(and I have never been in the business) what value does pulling a 1.7 share bring to a noncommercial station? I believe I believe having a highe...

Re: Colin Powell dead

Shockingly, pile of garbage Trump disparages him: https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/trump-t-help-himself-lashes-142030184.html Hey, let's try to keep entertainment out of the 'political' forums, shall we? He was one of the good ones. I still use his 2.4 rule when estimating things. May he RIP... ...

He had blood cancer in addition to COVID-19. Big ol' red flag, vaccinated or not.
It's being reported that he died of CA complicated by COVD, not a good combo

Re: Nielsen audio #'s released 9/21

Back in the day, WGRD AM had the feature of playing fast-rising songs twice in a row. They once played The Turtles' Happy Together twice and then a caller requested it and they ended up playing it three times in a row. Ah, the good ole days!

Re: WYCE... future?

I have no complaints regarding signal or coverage pattern; they definitely did the best they could. Along 28th St, the area near Clyde Park Ave does indeed have the best altitude above sea level. However, that monopole tower is just unsightly. True, there are cellular sites in the region that are p...

Re: Meteorologist Laura Velasquez joining Fox 17 WXMI Feb 15

I'm not certain what happened between her stint and WOOD TV and Fox 17. One thing is clear, however, her delivery and mannerisms have taken a sharp decline. She makes me uncomfortable. Thus, I turn the channel. Hopefully she finds her way. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk Could not disagree mo...

Ed's Obituary. Nicely written. I worked with him at some events, and he was a great guy to have around. We loose another one.
This is a very moving tribute. RIP Ed.

Re: TV Tuners

Thanks, everyone for the feedback. MW, I did have a light-duty amp inside near the TV. I removed it and things got much better. I did a rescan. Several of the stations "fade" in and out and, with my antenna pointer ENE, I get some sort of signal from all stations except 3.1-3.3, 35.1-35.6 and 52.1-5...
