Re: Network tv switch, nearly 25 years later: who was the winner?
Right. WPXD has about 14 viewers. WADL also doesn’t use a channel number and has about 25 viewers. Channel number doesn’t mean much these days especially with cable.

Re: Network tv switch, nearly 25 years later: who was the winner?
As bad as WJBK was as a CBS affiliate in the last years, WGPR as an independent was much worse. Some cable companies didn’t even carry it because the signal was so weak. The programming served a niche yes, but even that was fading in the early 90s, to where they aired infomercials much of the day an...

Re: Comcast and NBC in Detroit
Detroit proper is still declining. Just drive around the actual city and see for yourself. The growth and money are in some of the suburbs.
NBC/Comcast would be foolish to buy a station here unless it is for a deep discount.

Re: WPAY
A broker has a Toledo station with translator listed for $225,000. The ad claims full market coverage. Based on that, it has to be WPAY. There is no way WSPD would be offered for that low of a price, and I don’t see 1560 for sale. The others do not have translators.

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here
It seems every time I tune it, I hear The Doors. So the next generation is a 50+ year old song? I actually like some of the group’s music, but it’s hardly next generation.
This sounds like the Drive or the D or whatever they tried years back, except with local jocks.

Re: Network tv switch, nearly 25 years later: who was the winner?
If you have to pick one winner, it would be 62. Though they are a weak CBS O&O, they are worth far more than the WGPR independent days. CBS really pumped a lot of money into the signal in the analog days, The biggest loser is WKBD. Going from a strong FOX affiliate to being an afterthought, and losi...
