Re: Catholic radio in Detroit
I’m with you on the music more than the talk as well, but there’s also the teaching part that most Catholic stations always in most cases include in the programming base of the format, I don’t know of any Catholic stations that are 100 percent music, the two stations you mentioned do they stream? A...

Re: Catholic radio in Detroit
I live in Whitmore Lake and I can't hear WDEO at all at night. CBW dominates the frequency. Even the daytime signal is quite noisy and seems to be not as strong as it once was. Even when I lived in Saline, CBW cut in very often at night, especially during the winter months. My preference would be if...

Didn't he also run 96.1 WHNN and the short-lived "Class FM" WCLS in Detroit? He had quite the Adult Contemporary fiefdom in Michigan in the mid-'80s. Bob bought WABX in 1983 to make an entry into the Detroit market. He initially brought in the late Paul Christy to program a CHR format, replacing th...

Re: Any good skips caught today?
I was in Holland at the peak of the opening. Received a number of Kansas stations plus Mix 107.5 from Clovis, New Mexico. 92.7 The Van was completely ripped up by some station playing "Happier" by Marshmello/Bastille (wasn't able to ID it).

Did 95.7 ever have the WLGH calls? I saw that mentioned in a 1984 Billboard issue and wondered if that was a typo.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:13 pmW-Light (later stylized as "W-Lite") was a highly successful station in Grand Rapids when he owned it.

I am too. I know there are some posters here who like to try to make us feel unwelcome. Just do you and let the haters screw themselves. I know that's easier said than done sometimes but hopefully this makes you feel less alone.

Re: Manistee, MI through the years
Apparently, that's exactly what it was, and it shared the channel with Bravo (which had been launched two years earlier). I hadn't heard of it before either.organman95 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 7:57 amWhat was Escapade? Almost sounds like a pre-cursor to current 'adult channels'

Re: Wild 106.7
The HD3 is still there, or at least it was last night. However, it now uses the name "Power 106.7." Still Real Oldies. With iHeart making a renewed push for Pride Radio in many markets last month, I'm a little surprised that hasn't ended up in Detroit yet. (I suppose that was just for Pride Month/th...

Re: Manistee, MI through the years
I found cable lineups for Ludington and Mason County from 1982 on the Google News Archive. Before WCMW 21 signed on, Ludington and Scottville subscribers received then-WGVC 35 as their PBS signal (both on cable 3). WMVS from Milwaukee was also available in Ludington as a second-tier offering on chan...

Re: Fm translators
Apparently WJIM 1240 AM is now simulcasting on 106.9 FM (W295BP Haslett). Last I checked, this was one of the trio of Air1 drones in the market (90.9 and 95.9 being the other two). Not sure if this is permanent, a temporary measure until 107.7 gets built, or even due to technical difficulties with ...

Fuel FM
In case anyone was curious whether the stroke of genius (heavy sarcasm) programming aired on 92.1 FM in Lansing was actually being carried anywhere else, the answer is yes. I got back from a trip to Portsmouth, Ohio, not long ago, and heard Fuel on WKOV 96.7 FM in Wellston (Jackson), Ohio. Their pre...
