Re: Omelette returns

This is still a risk for midwestern. They are doing an awful lot to roll out the red carpet for Omelette including letting go of their northern country signal. That's a lot for someone who bombed out at The Bear. KLT was #1 in their male demographic across their entire dayparts in the last book. To ...

Re: Omelette returns

MW if you are patting yourself on the back for your predictions, how about me? Omelette returned to KLT on Feb 24th. I broke the story on Dec 20th!

Re: KLT lives in the far north!!! 93.5 to dump Country.

There is no way 93.5 gives KLT better coverage in the North than 98.9. I live north of Traverse City and 98.9 is heard in a ton of businesses where TCM is nowhere. I tune to 93.5 once in a while, it's weak in my car. I'm glad to have KLT staying in the North but the signal is not as good. They shoul...

Re: School closings on local radio

If students can already know there is no school, then how come adults can't get information about snow conditions and "backroads" just as easily? The answer is, they can. So we are right back to the idea of why read school closings? Do you think the stations that read the closings have more listeners?

Re: Fall 2019 ratings

A good book for THE rock station but here are three things that don't look good for KLT's ratings future: 1. One of the reasons they did so well this time is they gave away 500 dollars a day for almost the entire book, that won't happen again. 2. KLZ is disappearing. 3. Omelette was apparently a lia...

Re: Omelette returns

Did confirm Devitt will not be a part of KLT moving forward. Apparently his primary job was being the operations manager of ESPN and he was let go when that went dark.

Omelette returns

I have now heard it from three different sources that Omelette is coming back to KLT. The Morning Trainwreck guys have been told thanks but no thanks and the O-man will make his return to the Northern Michigan radio scene as soon as the deal with Midwestern is complete. I think this is a great move....

Re: The Fox soon WCMU

Only one signal was bought by CMU , 94.3. I heard the other two signals (92.5 and 100.5) are going dark.

Re: WKLT-fm, Kalkaska and WKLZ-fm, Petoskey

With my apologies to BigFreq. I was wrong. Yes NBI is being broken up. Several employees were let go last week with the rest being let go when the sale to Midwestern is final. I've heard 94.5 is sold to CMU with the rest of the Fox Signals going dark. WKLZ was sold to a non- profit. If ESPN is not s...

Re: 101.9 wldr

Certainly talk of selling has been subject matter for several years; no argument there. However, there are legitimate dealings on those signals now, with a broker as a middle man. Whether the stars align, and deals are all filed simultaneously, or the bulk are sold and others LMA'd to exit the day-t...

Re: 101.9 wldr

True I'm not on the Rolodex of people who want to sell radio stations but I know someone who is and this scenario of NBI being on the market and no one buying because of the cost has been around this buzzword for five years. So what are they waiting for? The owner sold the tower rights a few years a...

Re: 101.9 wldr

Much of Northern's cluster will soon be broken up, as deals are becoming lined up for each property; which will move to various buyers; including the multiple signals presently used to air ESPN. I would imagine the agenda of the new various owners would be to put new formats across those frequencie...
