Re: Palace explodes
The airport is where it's at and the only competition is Toledo and Flint. The Palace was easily accessible to maybe 10% of the metro Detroit population and had the newer LCA, centrally located, competing for shows, events and paying spectators. Sadly looks like LCA will be shuttered for a while.

Re: Palace explodes
Same can be said of Detroit Metro Airport for folks who live in northern and central Macomb County, St. Clair Shores, Roseville, Rochester Hills, Waterford, etc. I think the difference is that if you have to take a flight to get to where you are going, you have to drive to the airport. You never ha...

Re: Palace explodes
Yes, it makes me sad, it was a beautiful building and I have a lot of great memories there. I worked there in the mid 90's before moving on to 7. It was a great experience for a guy in his 20's and I still have friends from that time that I see at other venues and events. The only thing wrong with t...

Re: How to fix the Fox 2 morning show
I was an editor and TD, now I'm a cameraman, rolling with technology changes. Almost everybody who is in front of the camera and most of the management is under contract at all 3 stations. The only exceptions are a few per diem reporters and Fox 2 has 2 or 3, I believe.

Is it time to play "Fantasy News Director" again? Do we get an unlimited budget and are allowed to void contracts? What are the rules, this game sounds as fun as Fantasy Football?

Re: Sherry Margolis to retire from Fox 2
I wonder who Fox 2 could hire as A New anchor? Feels like a Ben Bailey / Chuck Gadica thing could be in the works, no facts to back this theory up, just speculation.

Re: Sherry Margolis to retire from Fox 2
It's not Fox 2's fault that they employed her until she retired at retirement age, in fact it's a mark in their favor. I doubt I'll work until I'm 65.WJBK keeps giving us fewer & fewer reasons to watch its newscasts.

The Detroit-Lincoln Park border is Outer drive. Depending wear you stand on that block you could be in Detroit or Lincoln Park according to a GPS. If you think this Nitpick is worth a thread your life must be pretty good.

Editorcj...so you work for Channel 7 now, and not Fox 2 anymore? I've worked for channel 7 for 24 years, before that the Pistons. Most everybody who knows me, including station management, knows I post as editorcj here and other forums and I know most of the people that work at Fox 2, one quite well.

Re: Detroit Protests coverage
Don't forget the photographers who are doing this while walking backwards, a real calf killer. The good news is the 7 team appears to be in the pretty good shape, the two women, Clifford and Russel, can walk and talk and the new guy Rudy is doing okay petty much.
