Re: WLDR Renewal Applications
From a casual observer's point of view, Roy's plan, whatever it may be, varies from year to year, depending on with whom he is trying to seek revenge. As we all know, it always backfires, and turns into a game of "I'm rubber, you're glue..."

Re: Cumulus changes
Wouldn't it make sense to sell your towers to someone who knows what they're doing and not have another WLQR 1470 mess on your hands? Plus past transmission site sales for WMAL and KABC were done as the real estate around them were worth more than the stations themselves. Have you recently visited ...

Re: WAWM 98.9 Tower Strobe Light?
The lights are likely stuck in Day mode, due to failure of the nighttime lights. When this happens, the lights typically default to Day mode.

Re: August Numbers
things like "Rock Witcha" by Bobby Brown are not AC Standards and throw the sound off completely. Wrong again. We played "Rock Witcha" on WFMK's "Lights Out" when it was a brand new song, 30+ years ago. And you couldn't get more "white" than WFMK's audience. We also played Anita Baker, Whitney, Al ...

Re: WBMI West Branch Brouhaha
WBMI sounded pretty good in the early 80s as "Stereo Rock I-105" which I believe was some sort of live/assist operation, with the daytime AM (WBMB) being live. That was a different time and place, in many ways. Later on, (90's?) and who knows how many owners later, WBMI was a decently put together O...

Just like nobody could take WTCM FM down in Traverse. Uncle Henderson went dark trying so.

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here
I heard Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar today. Not a bad song, but not right for the format. Leave that to CSX. Replace that with Stinkfist by Tool. If WLLZ's target was WRIF, that strategy would make sense, but the target is WCSX. When the original WLLZ appeared on scene, 1980-81, they had H*** female...

While I do find this to be mildly entertaining, one can only speculate as to the true reasons for all of this vitriol.

Re: Masks Now Mandatory In Stores
A generally accepted masculine quality is strength. You don't look strong in a goofy looking mask. HOWEVER, at the current time, it is the right thing to do. If my (admittedly) crass analogy made someone consider wearing a mask, it was worth it. Your analogy makes me want to puke and for that reaso...

Chris Renwick on WJR
Chris Renwick has been a breath of fresh air on WJR, compared to the foul wind of Frank Beckmann, who's currently on vacation. There's actually intelligent discussion, knowledge of the subject at hand, and younger callers to the show. With Frank, callers are people over 75, or "Mr. Positive" from Sh...

Re: WCXI 1160 Republican Talk Radio
The lineup on WCXI is basically who Mark Levin is referring to when he mentions "the back bencher's" :lol 1160 may be better than 1400 for Hannity, on AM, but did Sima ever file for an FM translator? Translators, in a large metro area, are only useful if you're stationery, but at least you can say y...
