Re: Former WLAV & WKLQ PD Dead From Covid 19

I’ll agree on one thing here - his initial programming of Buzz 95 was awesome! Great sounding station! When they became “Buzz Rock 95” and added classic rock acts like Led Zeppelin, they went downhill fast.... Darrin had some solid ideas early on. Buzz 95 was certainly a good example. I often wonde...

Re: WLCO is back

I had to run to Lake Orion yesterday, and I was certain WLCO had flipped to Sports, as ESPN 1530. To my surprise, I was hearing 1530 in Cincinnati, like a LOCAL signal, around 11:00 AM! When I left around 1:00 PM, WCKY was gone, and WLCO was there. This is definitely outside of CH, so I was surprise...

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here

Will Wheelz finally put Screamin Scott Randall in morn. drive???? Maybe his no compete is finally up from Beasley. Idk, man. When I think Screamin' Scott, I don't think Queen and Journey. But that's just me. Bring in Screamin', tweak the playlist to mirror Turbo on Sirius XM, and leave the CSX stuf...

Did he also do that "Sketches and Comments of the Great Lakes" feature?
No, that was Oscar Frenette. Dick Purtan's show did hilarious parodies of Oscar.

Why don’t we blame the clowns that sued to have this overturned? She was stopping it until then.
:lol :lol :lol
Stopping it? Whitmer couldn't even stop a runaway shopping cart. The best job for Whitmer would be in the public defenders office. :lol

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here

Without a doubt. That - and COVID. Beckmann's show is still a total trainwreck (I made the mistake of listening this morning) and Guy Gordon still gets "schooled" frequently by his callers. Ever since 1270 flipped to sports years ago, WJR has had a captive audience. I miss Mark Scott, Tommy McIntyr...

Re: Schools Reopening Not A Major Covid-19 Problem

Would you rather the 400 new positives we had in July or 2,000 now? Get real. Raw numbers don't really mean a whole lot in the context of testing capacity. I'd be willing to bet the increased testing has yielded more asymptomatic cases - people that wouldn't have been tested in July. The only peopl...

Re: Who was let go?

I'm glad they added full RDS to 93.5. Now 94.5 needs full RDS again. Johny started at K100 when they fired Amy Davis last December. He pretty much started the day they fired her. It looks like he's also permanently the night host on 93.5, replacing Bill Stewart. He used to be on 105.5 until they mo...

Re: WJML

They'd have to be really stupid to enter into an LMA for a daytime only AM station, unless the FM translator comes with it. Especially a daytimer with a bad coverage area! I can barely get it in Manistee I hate to whiz on the charcoal at your cookout, but even the stations in Ludington couldn't car...

Darryl Wood should be filling in for John McCullough on WDTK, as he did during John's previous medical leave. For the last 2 weeks, listeners have been treated to RERUNS of old McCullough shows...with the 2020 election looming. Instead of debate coverage, the McCullough Show last night featured the ...

Re: Ron Cameron

Mr. Positive is nothing but a laughable, shameless groupie. The very fact that he gets on the air at all just goes to show you how audience share has declined, not just with Ron's silly show, but even with Frank Beckmann and Guy Gordon.

Re: Ron Cameron

As hard as this may be to believe, I am fairly sure Ron briefly owned a radio station in Valdosta, GA. This would have been around the same time I was working in Orlando. It was one of Chuck Harder's old stations. It lasted about as long as one of Ron's imaginary restaurants.

Re: 99.3 wqan and 92.3 wbnz

It's my understanding Roy was booted from the tower at the Manistee-Benzie County line some years ago, due to nonpayment of rent, among other things. Without that site, he basically has 3 stations (on a 42 year old tower built for just one) that dump the majority of their signal right into Lake Mich...
