WOTV Post Repack

Has there been any news on WOTV's signal lately? Before repack, they were one of my best signals in Saugatuck. Their STA is about to expire (April 3?). WZPX is coming in great so I assume this is just WOTV's temporary antenna height and pattern. I expect their signal to return soon out here, but am ...

Re: RePack Phase 8 started

It’s not multi path, but actually the top of the tower swaying in the wind. It’s the same as if you were moving you receiving antenna around by several feet. When WKBD was on 14 they were on the lowest UHF channel (longest wavelength) so the effect would be noticed the least. I also always assumed ...

To me, Aris is and will always be the greatest DJ and music director I ever heard.

Re: WZPX (ION) files app to move closer to Grand Rapids

WZPX is coming in clearly now on the lakeshore near Saugatuck. I have an attic antenna with no amplifier, so the lower broadcast channel probably helps some too, but overall, the new tower location appears to be a winner here. It was always tough to get them on 43. Even with the lower antenna height...

Re: Kudos to Storm Team 8

I was watching the web sites for 3, 8, 13 and 17 while watching channel 8 on TV. Channel 8's web site was the only one that made the tornado warning their top news story on the home page. The others had links to severe weather information on their home page, but if you didn't explore those links, yo...

Give me a good reason for anyone under the age of 40 or 50 to listen... and having an FM radio in the car isn't a good answer.
I listen when Comcast internet service is down.

Re: Nexstar in Flap With DIRECTV and AT&T-UVerse

How did TV stations who get their licenses from the FCC get to charge cable, streaming or satellite services for carrying their signal when anyone in the stations broadcast radius can get it over the air with an antenna? Are the rebroadcast entities inserting their own commercials? The local TV sta...

Re: Nexstar in Flap With DIRECTV and AT&T-UVerse

Agreed. It is rather unique for a market to have two affiliates of the same major network. Neither WOTV nor WZZM can claim exclusive access to the market. My guess is that someone at AT&T decided to pull ABC without fully researching our situation. Probably just laziness, or stupidity, on their part...

Re: Why can't WHNE go to UHF 30?

Thunderstorms wipe out the lowest VHF channels. Unviewable. Channel 3 in KZoo vanished from my TV every time a storm came in. Of course that is the worst time to vanish. It didn't even take a thunderstorm. The small spark that sometimes happens when flipping a light switch was enough to take WWMT d...

Re: WZPX (ION) files app to move closer to Grand Rapids

I've been wondering if PBS is available OTA in Flint Proper. I guess it is near-fringe to three PBS stations, equidistant WKAR, WTVS and WDCQ. I believe there is or was a Channel 9 LPTV in Flint, and it would be nice if a PBS station could run a subchannel of it (or some other translator). Probably...

300? The physical CD library is a whole lot larger than that, not sure how much more are on the servers. If you're talking rotation I still think it's much more than that. When I was hanging around there, rule was a particular cut got embargoed for a number of days after being played. Correct. Ever...
