Re: 1967 Rebellion

What a bunch of crap. I was a kid living on Detroit's west side in the '60s. It was called a riot then and always has until now. WTF. It was close to a damn war! Rebellion my arse.

Re: Shakeup at WKAR

Cool to see Mark Bashore is still around. Worked with him for a short time at WFMK in the '80s. Very nice guy, IMHO.

Thanks for linking that story.

Re: 106.3 Interlochen is now on the air

Not sure who first came up with AAA, but John Sebastian touted EOR (eclectic oriented rock) with a handful of mid-major-market stations in the 1980s. It was hyper-targeting 25-34 men. I loved it, but I was in the target demo when I worked at one of them in the mid-80s. I think Sebastian was an AOR P...

Re: C'mon WGRD.....

She's alive and well (as of a year or two ago) and living in Grand Haven area still. Haven't seen her name in the local paper's obituaries.

Re: 95.7 W-Lite... Where Are They Now?

Thanks, Steve. I learned a lot about Bill from that obit. Last I had heard, he was programming in Colorado, but I see that was now a long time ago!

Man, is time flying by fast!

Bill did me one disservice: He hired me for WFMK and not WLHT.

Re: 95.7 W-Lite... Where Are They Now?

I had not heard that Bill died. My belated sympathies to his family, for what it's worth. I agree, Bill had his problems, but don't we all? He was a great guy to work for. I was in Lansing when he made the trek to fill in for mornings. I was sad when he left Liggett, and sure did not like his replac...

Re: What is up with WFYC

Great story, Cal. I have no doubt about it being true. I was there in ''80-81 when we put round, red stickers with "R" on them, indicating "restricted." That album or song was not to be used until after 6 p.m. --- dayparting. I don't recall having any Beatles albums in the library at that time. Mayb...

Re: What is up with WFYC

Ah.....WFYC. That was my first real job in radio. Early '80s. Farm reports, religious shows on Sundays, high school sports, Tigers baseball. And mostly vinyl records all with cue-burns.

Boy, he had that right.

RIP, Paul. I picture you and Ernie now calling the games on WGOD. Jim Northrup just hit another grand slam!

Radio has become a sad, sad shell of its former self. Let us bow our heads........
