Re: Cool FM 95.1 and 100.7

That playlist is clearly indicating more of a classic rock direction. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Re: Most versatile radio pop/rock song

Still don’t get why any Elton John would be played on a classic rock station.

Valenti. It was stale 10 years ago.

Re: WPON Update - 2019

Is WPON on right now? There’s no trace of it in Dearborn or Canton. Perhaps it is too far away.

I can get a scratchy WCXI.

Re: WPON Update - 2019

How much is industrial land worth in Garden City anyhow? It’s an OK area, but not exactly booming.

1160 will have almost no night power. Actually, 1460 won’t either.

Re: Sam Webb and WTKA 1050 (Ann Arbor)

Of course he is. The whole lineup is Michigan centric and I rarely hear any criticism from any of the hosts.

Harbaugh should have been fired after last year. No excuses.

WJR lost the Tigers games while Ernie was still broadcasting.

Re: WPON Update - 2019

It wouldn’t be another sports feed- just moving 1090s format to 1160. 1090 could be leased out I am sure- someone did it last year with a rap format. Only lasted one month because there was virtually no revenue. A classic country format would likely do better, but would still take work to make money.

Re: WPON Update - 2019

1160 could go back to classic country. Another option is to move the sports format there, and put classic country on 1090.

Re: WPAY

Some translators are permanently linked to the AM station, meaning it cannot operate if the AM is disconnected. If this is the case with WSPD, then they wouldn’t sell 1370 without the translator. If both are included, the price is way too low.

It has to be 1520.

Re: Bell wants to shut down more CTV transmitters

I remember reading Windsor had one of the highest OTA viewship numbers in the country, probably because of Detroit and Toledo. If memory serves, Windsor carries all of the Detroit stations except WADL and WPXD. Not sure if they carry the Toledo stations. I can’t remember if Sarnia carries WMYD and W...

Re: Comcast and NBC in Detroit

I don’t live in the city but I have friends who do. It’s still a mess. The population is still falling. Eventually it has to slow down- even St. Louis which has Detroit like percentage losses has slowed.

Right. WPXD has about 14 viewers. WADL also doesn’t use a channel number and has about 25 viewers. Channel number doesn’t mean much these days especially with cable.

Re: Network tv switch, nearly 25 years later: who was the winner?

As bad as WJBK was as a CBS affiliate in the last years, WGPR as an independent was much worse. Some cable companies didn’t even carry it because the signal was so weak. The programming served a niche yes, but even that was fading in the early 90s, to where they aired infomercials much of the day an...
