Re: The Coming End Of Rock and Roll

Some of the artists being considered rock is debatable, and others no way (Joni Mitchell rock? Seriously?). That being said, it’s just pointing out that musicians have finite lives just like we do, and new artists just don’t have the popularity. I see it around me- most kids and teens, even 20 somet...

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?

Canton is also bordered by Plymouth Twp (good), and Wayne (not so good), as well as Superior Twp (rural, but starting to grow) The Cherry Hill development (on the site of the defunct town of the same name) seemed like a failure years ago, it’s improved somewhat. It’s so far out there I rarely go tha...

Re: Hurricane Dorian

All of the panic alert news stories pretty much ignored the USVI, focusing on Puerto Rico and if it will hit Florida. It was the same when Irma and Maria hit. Those islands were devastated, so much so that there was still cleanup and traffic lights out when I visited St. Thomas and St. Croix this pa...

Agreed about Goldhammer. He’s not good on the air either.

Re: Big News regarding ESPN 1000, Chicago

How many sports stations does Milwaukee need? I think there are around 5, with at least two carrying all national programming. I was picking up 540 around the New Buffalo area, not bad for 400 watts!

I am very familiar with their Cleveland station. Curious as to what changes they will make.

1160 was easily receivable from Ann Arbor when driving through today. It was strong enough to stop the seek.

I would think 730 would have one of them. You may be able to get WJR for the Lions if anything else.

Sadly, the team websites, especially the Tigers, are not always updated.

If you are Beaver, I loved when he would make appearances on the show. Rudy was the punching bag but he took it well.

I miss that show.

Re: Lodging/hospital cable lineups

I’m in a hotel in New Buffalo right now, and they have the South Bend locals (of course), plus WBBM, WMAQ, WLS, and WTTW from Chicago, and WWMT from Kalamazoo. Surprised they allow so many out of market stations, but it’s great to have.

Sadly, it’s WGN America instead of the real thing.

Re: You Thought Lead Was Bad? Now It's Fluoride!

Lead accidentally put in Flint water? Meanwhile, 100 miles away, Grand Rapids was deliberately putting Fluoride in the water since 1945. Now it looks like it causes lower IQ. Wonder what second hand pot smoke in Ann Arbor does to IQ? https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2019/08/drinking-fluoridated-wate...

TC Talks, do you even know what ethnic means? You are a hateful person. Do you even have any connection to the Detroit area? If not, how do you know which suburbs are improving or declining?

You are as bad as that spammer from Windsor (who thankfully doesn’t post anymore).

Re: Holy Shnikies! What’s wrong with that Marysville council candidate?

WHLS and WSAQ are music formats. They probably air the same recorded news as WPHM. I occasionally listen to the former when I am up there, never the latter (don’t like country).

All of the Port Huron commercial stations (plus WHLX) except WGRT are owned by the same company.

Re: Holy Shnikies! What’s wrong with that Marysville council candidate?

St. Clair County as a whole is mostly ignored, this event being the exception. Since the county and surrounding ones will never become their own market (in the analog days Pt. Huron only had one station allotted to it), that won’t change. Even the local radio station WPHM only has a morning show and...

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?

TC Talks is your average far left SJW. He wants you to be tolerant of him, yet throws insults and hate at those who do not agree with his views, calling you racist, bigoted, etc. Think PC Principal of South Park. Fact is, Hamtramck is a dump, and it has been for decades. Saying that must mean all im...
