Re: WPON testing again ?

CXI is in Fenton again? I haven’t checked lately, but their 1000 watt signal was poor in Western Wayne back then. It had been much better lately, leading me to assume it was coming from Milford Twp.

I was in Northville yesterday- no peep from WPON.

Re: Catholic radio in Detroit

No way WJR goes Catholic.

WLQV is more likely, if Salem sells. They also have the FM translator. I have no idea how much their brokered programming and UT brings in.

Another option is one of the crappy Birach stations. He has sold pieces in the past (WSDS).

Re: AAA - can it still work in Detroit?

107.1 bores me to tears. It’s mostly light crap. The new artists they play are too mellow and lame.

A format like this wouldn’t even draw a 1 share in the Metro.

Re: Woodstock Cancelled

There were a few of the originals signed up (I know Melanie Safka was one), but there were problems since the start. When it was decided to move it to Maryland, that was it.

Re: Local News Stations in Dayton To Cover Mass Shooting

Again, there is a difference between covering the story and actually sending people down there.

Re: CICO-32 in Windsor

I haven’t watched channel 32 since they dropped Saturday Night at the Movies. That was the only thing worth watching. How does 102.3 get away with airing so much to the US? Their sales office is in Dearborn. Their programming is obviously catered to Arabs on this side of the border. It wouldn't surp...

Re: WPON testing again ?

They are testing today. Fairly weak south of Plymouth. Not sure about other directions.

I am shocked they are actually putting something on this signal.

Re: WPON testing again ?

I have never picked up 1460 since they went off nearly 10 years ago, but then again Canton isn’t really in the main coverage area.

I will have to try again tomorrow.

Re: CICO-32 in Windsor

Even CBET was profitable into the 80s because of Detroit. When the feds cut the budget, channel 9 cut out Detroit. They have never recovered. I have always thought of this area as special because you have another country within earshot. Sadly, the media no longer utilizes this. Windsor no longer cov...

Re: CBSDetroit62

They had the CBS Morning show near the very end, right before they officially became CBS. I think they also aired the syndicated Family Feud at around 11PM. They picked up a few NBC game shows in the 90s channel 4 didn’t want.

They also had Hee Haw near the very end of its run.

Re: Another horrendous book for Q105

Out of market stations used to be counted, and would show up. They are still rated, so why their owners paid for their Toledo numbers seems odd. I don’t listen to WJLB- do they have any Toledo businesses advertising except perhaps the casino? Doubt it.

Re: CBSDetroit62

The call letter change made sense, because the WGPR calls supposedly originally stood for "Where God's Presence Radiates." While I don't think 62 was ever marketed as a "Christian" or religious station, their prime time schedule and much of their daytime schedule was filled with programs from vario...

Re: 2019 Detroit Lions

If the Saints do win, it will give more ammo to the conspiracy that the NFL is rigged, since it will be a “makeup” for last year.
