Re: RePack Phase 8 started

I put a set of 'rabbit ears' up in my attic with RG6 to the 2nd floor TV set and pulled the VHF leads 3/4 of the way out and I still had to spend 45 minutes to get both VHF 11 and VHF13 to come-in at 75% regularly in T-town. Or, is part of the problem the Best Buy and Sony TV's have sh*t for tuners...

Re: KROQ cans entire morning team

This brings me to the question of providing coverage to all Hispanic listeners in the second market. Can an smaller FM station cover the whole Spanish-Speaking community of L.A. with a Class A east of Downtown, or is it spread out, making a grandfathered superpower Class B the only way to reach the ...

Re: Antenna TV gone?

WMYD-TV 20 Detroit and it's subchannels are only available on Buckeye Broadband on the Michigan side of the border, namely Bedford township. When I do a zip code search on AntennaTV's website, it says I should be able to get it on 20.2 with an antenna. Will have to try that, as I don't think it'll ...

Re: WPON WCXI Updates - 2020

I've heard WPON announcers saying they have air time slots available.

Sadly, I take this to mean that they won't be doing a full-time oldies format as I had hoped.

Not that I would have been able to enjoy it at home. Where I live, WLEC will blow it out of the water.

Re: Art Van is out of money and is liquidating and closing all stores

A lot of the furniture in my house came from Art Van. They are the middle-of-the road furniture store in terms of price point. Better quality merchandise than Gardner-White. Much more affordable than Gorman's. Not ghetto like La-Z-Boy. I am unfamiliar with Bob's Discount Furniture, other than their...

Re: Gray wants to buy Tegna (WZZM parent)

If that goes through, Gray would own three of Toledo's network affiliates (11, 13 and 36).

Re: No love for the FCC?

Not happy that Uncle Charlie allowed the TV band to be decimated by the cellphone companies. If they were to give us all nice Channel Master 110" long log periodics and a 40' tower as a part of the deal, then I would have been okay with it, but not happy the TV band is forced to go low band VHF and...

Re: RePack Phase 8 started

I'm not sure about Metro Detroit, but VHF 3 was always noisy in the Grand Rapids area during the analog days. With a properly installed rooftop antenna, WWMT delivered a clean signal, but with indoor rabbit ears, silver or yellowish diagonal bars constantly danced across the screen. I think this wa...

Re: WWJ signal problems? (+ WJR audio distortion)

WXYT (AM) is quite weak everywhere south of its array near the I-275/I-75 interchange. They need to protect WONW 1280 in Defiance, OH, made more difficult because WXYT changed its TL nearly 70km, putting it closer to WONW. At night, WONW drops to 500W into a DA, and their NIF is quite high. At this ...

WXYZ is testing on channel 25.1, just a test pattern and tone.
Thanks. Just logged it.

I think it's DTV #200 for me.

How did crappy WLPC get a rf28 spot and a station that runs professionally get low vhf...that BS!!!! When this repack started WHNE stated that they were going to reconfigure theyre signal a certain way to still be able to be picked up without adding an antenna.I don't know if that's possible with v...

Re: NBC IN ALPENA AREA

30 miles SE of Alpena?
Your favorite fishing spot?

Best chance for NBC would be WTOM near Cheboygan.
The same transmitter carries WGTU as well.

If the trees around your site are pine trees (as opposed to broadleaf) you may be in trouble. The antenna mast would have to higher than the trees.

Being on adjacent channels, couldn't WWJ-TV and WTVS duplex 21 and 22 through the same antenna?

Re: DIY antenna designs for attic?

At the bottom of this page is a Hoverman for 470-608 MHz. http://ham-radio.com/k6sti/tv.htm I saw this myself, and was VERY interested in building one - but where are the dimensions?? I've also had thoughts of building a larger Hoverman for High-VHF, and a 'King Kong" Hoverman to snag the last rema...
