Re: 93.9 station "skip".

At 96 and 23, 94.7 was getting overrun by someone playing that Sam Smith song that sounds like Free Fallin'. Anyone help with that one?

Re: Two WNIC thoughts...

They had it right for a DAY a couple of weeks back. I noticed it on sister station Star 105.7 but when the station does breeze over to Brighton, it sounds back to normal. I cannot conceive why, especially in 2019, a major-market station run by one of the largest broadcasting chains in the world, sti...

I'm bored...entertain me.

We got ROCKED in Brighton with that storm tonight and the power is out, and probably will be until late tomorrow night (at the earliest). So 100°+ weather, no air or fans, no albums, nothing. At least the kids will be with their so-called "father" tomorrow, so they'll be okay. The girlfriend is asle...

Re: July Tropo

I started another thread with this post, but I'm pasting it in here as it makes more sense. Sun Jul 14, 2019 7:57 am I live in Brighton, right near the 23-96 interchange. I have a standard Pioneer VSX-D906S receiver in my music room DOWNSTAIRS and this morning, Grand Rapids is pounding in, better th...

Re: WMMQ

Wow, that long? I had no idea! It's only been within the last year or so I've lived in Brighton and been able to reliably pick up the signal. I've seen promos for it on Facebook, but was cynical, especially after working in Detroit radio and thought I knew what "all-request" meant. No, these guys ar...

I saw a George Carlin bit about that.

And I agree.

I'm stumped

I live in Brighton, right near the 23-96 interchange. I have a standard Pioneer VSX-D906S receiver in my music room DOWNSTAIRS and this morning, Grand Rapids is pounding in, better than more local stations (Detroit). I even got a decent mono signal on 104.9 from Alma. As I type this I have a solid s...

WMMQ

While taking a short break from Q106 tonight, I decided to tune in to 94.9 for the all-request Saturday night. I generally tune them in during normal dayparts, and initially thought "all request? Yeah, I know what that means...normal programming with one tertiary song per hour". Nope. I was wrong. I...

Re: Lee Iacocca dies at 94

The only thing that wasn't "Reliant" on those cars were the tape decks. NEVER saw one that worked.

Then again, *I* always had back luck with standard tape decks in cars, too.

Thanks for everything, Lee! Rest well!

Re: Audio processing issues at iFart's Detroit stations (92.3 & 100.3)

It sounds like Star 105.7 is having the same issues. For some reason, they are booming in this morning in Brighton, and it has the same "lacking midrange and 96k webstream" audio quality that Mix has (which comes in like shit here, rarely getting the RDS) and what WNIC is back to. So it doesn't appe...

Re: A little praise for 89x

I signed up for the music test for Q106 and, I gotta tell ya, had I not been told afterward what each song and artist was, I'd have never known. I'm stuck when it comes to rock. New alternative rock is FAR too wimpy and active rock is far too samey-sounding to me. Same drum sounds, same over-compres...

Mega Hertz - check out what Q106 is airing right now (at 7:15p in the evening on a Saturday).

What Q106 is doing makes WRIF and 89X's respective playlists look like music for little girls.
Oh, I heard. I heard, my friend. As did my neighbors ;)

A little praise for 89x

I thought I would heap some praise on 89x. Why, you ask? Ever since they've gone more the "urrrrrrrrgh my father didn't love me enough" rock music route (I call it "Three Finger Death Smack" rock), I haven't tuned in as much. But while flipping around last night, I caught the opening of "On A Plain"...
