Re: Source: Cumulus Detroit is for sale...

Too few hands own too many stations. If they have 8 stations in a market, or even 5 or less, chances are that one or more of them is considered a throwaway, and they are seriously mismanaged. They just keep them in order to keep them out of the hands of competitors. Usually this is an AM or a serio...

Re: Source: Cumulus Detroit is for sale...

I got some bottles and cans in my car and garage. I'll make them an offer they can't refuse. I'll pitch in a 30-gallon bag full of cans for your cause, but I want studio naming rights. I doubt it will take much. With that list of markets available, Detroit will likely be at the bottom of the list o...

Re: Deep Cuts From More Contemporary Artists

It's not so much as b-sides as it is songs that used to get played, but don't anymore. For example, a band like Green Day that was H*** in the 90s, has had their songs whittled down to the hits from Dookie, Brain Stew and American Idiot. They had numerous hits, many of which don't get played anymore...

Yes on both accounts. Because I remember when these weren't deep cuts.

Triple Post

MW-

If you see this, can you remove two of my three threads in the Detroit section?

Idk why it did that, but we only need one.

Thanks.

Deep Cuts From More Contemporary Artists

The classic rock deep cuts are awesome, and I'm loving it. But, as someone that's 34 years old, I also love rock from the 90s and beyond. There are a lot of newer (so to speak) that I'd love to hear deep cuts from. If you can think of any, by all means, drop them here! For example: Green Day - "Hitc...

Re: Overplayed Classic Rock Songs

While these songs are burnt to a crisp, and it's a great idea to play deeper album cuts, it'll never happen, and I'll tell you why. To the average listener, these are recognizable songs. They want songs they know. No PD or MD worth his/her weight in you-know-what is going to program a bunch of B-si...

BINGO. Son of a BITCH I'm so over Pink Floyd I could cry. Except for maybe "Young Lust". But for every one time I hear that one, I can't change the station fast enough when I hear that helicopter fading up.

Re: Lost Classic Rock Songs - Detroit version

"Muscle Of Love" - Alice Cooper (just gave this whole album a relisten, and it's better than I remembered) That one fights with "Love it to Death" as my favorite ACG album (From the Inside takes the #1 spot overall). Big Apple Dreamin', Never Been Sold Before, the title cut, Working Up a Sweat...gr...

Re: I’m Really Concerned about the Divide in America

Mega Hertz - that is quite a story! Sorry your family had to go through that. Makes my story kind of pale in comparison. My dad was accused of making a bomb threat over a pay phone. He was arrested though never convicted as the prosecutor dropped the charges at the preliminary exam just seconds bef...

Re: I’m Really Concerned about the Divide in America

Someday, I'll get around to posting these on YouTube (just for the historical purposes of the anchors/newspeople), but we had our own little "issue" with law enforcement many years ago. Long story short, my father was accused (and convicted of) attempted murder of two Clinton Twp. businessmen in 198...

Re: I’m Really Concerned about the Divide in America

I've been trying to work this out for a while. But one thing that I think adds to this problem is that, especially now with social media being as prevalent as it is, nobody can appear to be "weak" or "losing". By extending an olive branch, or a handshake, or even saying "I'm sorry. How do we work th...
