UHF TV Reception in Northern Leelanau County
I have deleted my original comments about UHF TV reception in northern Leelanau County because follow-on comments seemed to focus on reception in Norwood. I have no data to offer about reception in Norwood. Norwood is located in Charlevoix County, not in northern Leelanau County. Readers interested ...

Re: Historic WWJ building to be redeveloped
SOLARMAX--thanks for the update on no progress. I have been meaning to drive past the WWJ site on 8-mile to see what had been done. You saved me a trip.

Re: FSD will be BSD
This may be big news in the world of pro-sport websites that appear to all have announced this a few hours ago, but it was no big secret. The name change was announced publicly in November 2020. Re: Fixed antenna for CICO & CBET
Follow up with a report on the Stellar Labs Model #30-2440 Fringe antenna. Give an assessment of the build quality and the reception signal strengths.
I have noticed STELLAR LABS makes many TV antennas with very reasonable costs.

Re: Antennas Spotted On Helicopters
Read the data sheet. The antenna under discussion is an aircraft antenna for 243 to 318-MHz. It has right-hand circular polarization and a gain of 6 dBiC (decibels referenced to a circularly polarized, theoretical isotropic radiator). The antenna is designated as a SATCOM antenna, which I presume me...

Re: Local TV stations blow the Christmas Eve & Christmas Day weather forecast
In support of Paul Gross, I would like to say: --he was actually trained academically at a rather good University (Michigan) and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology ; --he has been, for more than 25 years, the behind-the-scenes guy at the WDIV weather center doing the actua...

...I mean the HD-7000R.... If the thing in the middle is... The image is really very low resolution. I don't understand what "the middle" refers to. It looks to me like one or two elements are lengthened and there is a joint of some kind. I cannot offer any inference about what that joint is. This ...

Re: Fixed antenna for CICO & CBET
I called Winegard a couple of months ago and asked the technical department if they had any new designs. They said no. On the new topic of revised antenna designs: With the repack, the UHF TV antenna could be optimized for the narrower band. With only Channels 14 to 38, a new antenna could be desig...

Re: Fixed antenna for CICO & CBET
An antenna for CBET-9 or CICO-32 does not need VHF low-band elements.

Re: Fixed antenna for CICO & CBET
Regarding reception of CICO and CBET: I recommend you look at your signal path to their co-located transmitter site. Use GOOGLE EARTH to draw a line from their antenna to your location. Carefully look along the path to see if there are any large, tall buildings that are in the path, particularly in ...
