Re: Lima's 940 WCIT Drops Sports
I used to listen to WCIT back in the late 70s and early 80s. It was Top 40 and a joke. WCIT was a daytimer with no pre-or post sunrise authority. I believe they had a horrible automation system, and was almost laughable. The FM was beautiful music. The owner thought he was a big-shot, and was cluele...

Re: ABC News Bureau Inside Of WXYZ Broadcast House
On a related note, an ABC Radio Network Newscast morning report, originating from Broadcast House, exists on YouTube. It aired during 1967 Detroit riots. It's an on-air piece recorded off of WXYZ Radio, also an ABC O&O. It features long-time WXYZ talent.

Re: Mike Duggan files for divorce
Personally, I don't care about the Mayor's personal life. But, Duggan has gotten more done for the city than any other politician has done in my lifetime. And, I have been following Detroit politics for nearly 50 years. His time in office is far from perfect, but look back with what he had to work w...

Re: Farewell, Uncle Russ
I worked at WCAR AM1130 in 1977. He had a talk show at night as I remember it. I rarely saw him, but when I did, he acted like he was always in a hurry. The sort of mantic type, always moving about crazily looking for something. I think I greeted him once, and he just stared back at me. I was in sal...

Re: What WJR Could Change In The Future.
Unless you listen to Howard Stern, et al, there's plenty of content on AM/FM radio. I'm not happy that there's not as much content as there used to be. But, that's life these days. And...I'm not rich, but I'm well off, and I'm not going to spend excess dollars on a car radio. It's a car radio, that'...

Re: What WJR Could Change In The Future.
The national voices of today are just "Johnny-one-notes", i.e., right-wing politicos. That why W. J. R. stands for We're Just Republicans, not Detroit, anymore. Back in the day, WJR was the home of those Hall of Fame broadcasters like, Arthur Godfrey, Paul Harvey, Win Elliot, and those CBS News grea...

In the 80s, I met the owner of WILS at his home near Okemos. I don't recall the gentlemen's name. Any help?

Re: Tiger's on Free TV OTA
I work the afternoon shift. We can only watch free OTA tv at work. We don't have access to cable at work. We would watch the Tigers on a station like 50, 20, or one of the sub-channels. It's a no-brainer. There are thousands of viewers like us in this 3-shift area. Plus, all those life-long Tigers f...

Re: WPAY
I KNOW its WPAY! I've had contact with the broker. As I've said before, I only recently learned of WPAY's existence. This was after I answered a blind ad about a Toledo AM and translator for sale. The broker wrote back to tell me it was WPAY.

Re: Channel 7 must have bills to pay
Many years ago, I worked at a small radio station, and we hosted a wedding show. We sold advertising, spaces at the hall, and made a lot of money. It was a hit. And, the station received a lot of free publicity.
