New channel frquencies

Since we're in the middle of the re-pack, let me update the forums on what channels are changing in the Windsor-Detroit area: CICO-DT-32 (TVOntario) just moved from UHF 32 to UHF 19 today... still not up yet (unless they've dropped power and are gradually increasing it again to ease their new transm...

I now know your pain...

and wow, Toledo... i'm SO sorry for what you have to endure when you guys want to watch television programs. I'm talking about WMNT-CD 48. It's been BOOMING in to Windsor for the past week, and i can see it in all its pixellated, over-stretched glory. I can barely make out some of the text during co...

Re: WHNE needs your Help........

6.5 kW? that *could* work... if i'm close enough and the signals's strong enough, will my VHF-Hi/UHF (7-51) antenna be able to pick it up? or better yet, why not apply for UHF 16? CHWI-DT *barely* reaches Windsor and its signal contour almost exactly follows the Detroit River, and it even has a repe...

Re: WHNE needs your Help........

Since UHF 26 is now open, can't WHNE ask for permission to move back to that frequency?

Re: CKCO-3 Channel 42 Off the Air?

I'm not sure sure CFPL would, or even COULD flip, since there's significant overlap with Kitchener's CKCO. Both stations' signals cover the other's city decently well....

Re: CKCO-3 Channel 42 Off the Air?

It *WAS* allocated UHF 26 if it were to convert to digital operations, but now it's going to be signing off for good.

Re: CKCO-3 Channel 42 Off the Air?

no, bell decided they wanted to shut off their two biggest analog transmitters, CKCO-TV-3 and CJOH-TV-6 in Deseronto... no surprise there. I think bell and shaw dream of turning CTV and Global into general-entertainment cable channels (and will eventuallhy pressure the CRTC to allow for such a categ...

Re: CHWI-DT-26 about to move

CBET-DT is omidirectional, but with slight nulls to the NW (to protect WWTV in Cadillac, also on VHF 9) and to the NE to protect CFTO-DT in Toronto (also on VHF 9)...

CHWI-DT-26 about to move

So, I was watching CTV Windsor this morning when I saw a ticker scrolling across the screen.... it said that 26.1 would be moving on April 28 (though it made no mention of what channel it was moving *to*)... get ready, folks... it'll be landing on UHF 17.

Re: ATSC 3.0 To Be Deployed In 40 U.S. Markets By End Of 2020

that's only PARTLY correct. The x.1 subchannels have to be simulcast in ATSC 1.0. all the digital subchannels like x.2 and x.3 don't have to be (and might have to be dropped if a channel agrees to simulcast a partner)
