Re: CICO-32 in Windsor

I agree, but the CRTC always devalues its own properties like the CBC... as mentioned in another thread before the great database wipe a few months back, if the CRTC were to give CBET 9 in Windsor an exemption to cover news stories in Detroit and offer programming and commercials for Detroit, that s...

Re: CICO-32 in Windsor

Yes, it's on the air... but it's hard to pick up because of WUDL-LD, at the Renaissance Center, is also on UHF 19 until winter (when it moves to UHF 35)... Co-channel Interference is quite a hassle...

Re: CBSDetroit62

I heard their call-letters had a second meaning: "Where Good Programming Resides"... and it did fit since they had some popular programs during their independently-owned era.

Re: Past WJBK network slogans

I remember their best one: "It Takes Two, TV-2"... it was their final slogan as a CBS affiliate, and ran from 1990 to 1994, by Kim Weston, and the late Marvin Gaye's brother filling in for him in a recreation of their classic duet. It was an excellent salute to Detroit's motown history, and you can ...

ratings, man. if it bleeds, it leads. hell, about 12 years back, jib jab even made a video commenting about sensationalism in journalism causing a perpetual "arms race" as it were for ratings and viewer attention, and its affects on world culture since the dawn of television in the late 1940s: https...

Other than pizza, Mike and his family were/are nothing but taxpayer leeches.
Pretty much.

Hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars for the new stadium. Why can’t billionaires pay for their own projects?
becuase then they'd just be multi-millionaires?

Re: As the repack continues, TVFool still doesn't have an updated transmitter database. What's going to happen?

I don't think many, if any Canadian stations are changing their broadcast locations because of very strict CRTC regulations on the matter. We try to keep our radio and television stations spaced very far apart to minimize interference and any new facilities or changes tend to be a pain to get author...

Re: RF over IP: Is it possible?

You MIGHT be able to get away with this sort of setup if you had an HD HomeRun box and a high-speed VPN link between the remote site and your home... but that might go down if there's a power outage at either location (or in between)... You'll also need to make sure that the network link can handle ...

“Coming up next on Catholic radio, it’s a Tiger Ticket Tuesday, plus R. Kelly, Michael Jackson, and a Catholic priest, that’s coming up on your Child Molester Monday.” Child molestation is in all denominations so don’t single out the Catholic denomination and it’s also in our public schools, privat...
