Just have to give kudos to the station's owners - I've been north several times recently, and everytime I end up tuning in and listening for a while. "Rabbit ears" are specifically designed for VHF reception, not UHF. The "center grid" you see on most "rabbit ears" is what picks up UHF. I run two SDR dongles in tandem with unitrunker and DSD+ for ultra cheap, reliable P25 phase 1 and 2 decoding. You can even monitor multiple control channels (systems) at once and give priority to talkgroups from a global (multi-system) standpoint.
