Re: Ric Ocasek RIP

List the hits you wrote in your songwriting career Really?!? That's your retort? Jeez, you got me...yeah Ocasek wrote better songs than me. I understand the Cars had a big following and sold millions of records. My wife and I have a fight for the volume dial in the car (no pun intended) when a Cars...

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?

I forgot to name one for my improving column: Clawson. Here's another one for my declining column: Canton. Hell, I'll add Sterling Heights to the "declining" list, too! South end of the city is looking a little rough. Van Dyke thoroughfare isn't what it used to be, and if Lakeside Mall becomes the ...

Re: Ingredients for a morning news show

CBS This Morning, when they first relaunched the show with Charlie Rose, Gayle King, and Norah O'Donnell had the best approach with a more hard-news angle to their morning show. I'm tired of hearing about the best back-to-school recipes or what some celebrity did last week, which is what you get fr...

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?

Here's why I chose Canton: 1 - Schools. Part of the city is served by Westland-Wayne Community Schools (lousy). The other part of the city is served by Plymouth-Canton Community Schools (five gazillion students at the high school). 2 - Adjacent communities. Canton has Van Buren Twp on one side and ...

Seems to me Ms. Andrews just got divorced or is going through a separation. She just said this morning that she "moved into a smaller place" and shes not wearing a ring.
I never saw her wearing a ring.

Re: AAA - can it still work in Detroit?

How does one categorize or fall into AAA?
I thought it was largely singer-songwriter, heavily acoustic. It just sounds like a vaguely worded format so how much subgenre variety should such a station play?

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?

TC the bully seems to think all "white males" are "racists", though he himself appears to be white ( unless he can prove otherwise). I now have to think hes a troll. And actually, I was implying that immigration is working in the citys favor because it has brought in a successful population increas...

Re: Christians Who Support Trump - Deny Jesus.

Christians dont support abortion or infanticide like pretty much all Democrats and thats the single issue for many of them that determines their vote. So dont get so high and mighty yet.

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?

As far as the Pointes, I think its viewed as too "stuffy", "old money", and old fashioned. Younger generations with that kind of money are buying in new subdivisions out in Oakland Twp or Novi/Commerce. They are also buying in Birmingham, where a majority of the neighborhoods have been transformed v...

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?

Hamtramck is heavily "ethnic". Immigration has resulted in a higher population/tax base. It went from 18k to 23k people and the ethnic community is slowly buying and repopulating old buildings for things like halal food centers. Also, hipster/starving artist/musician types are moving in due to dirt ...
