Re: Red Lobster closing in Michigan?

Why would you go to Red Lobster when you could go to Eddie V's? It's not that much more expensive and you get a better meal. Uh.....thats the point. They're closing stores right and left, so no one is going. I am eating at the 12 Oaks Red Lobster right now. Mama mama please! No more face lifts. I j...

Re: Should convicted felons be allowed to vote?

I think it should be a nationwide law that convicted felons cannot vote.
Unfortunately, that won't keep the riff raff from holding office.

Celebrate the exit of another happy customer! But at least Mark Nels (DU16173) -er- Paul Richards (DU16378) didn't post all 'tics all the time.

Fave TV spots

I still get a chuckle when I see this one, which - for some inexplicable reason - brings to my mind the old Wendy's "Where's the Beef" ads...

The spot pre-dated this year's crop of mostly-overrated 2024 Superbowl commercials...

Re: Most Annoying Commercials

Enough with the damn 'whole body deodorant' ads. Any of 'em. “Wanna know a secret? More than just my armpits stink...” Yeah. You stink "EVVVerywhere..." Be certain that these companies are making a mint on tools with low self-esteem who are convinced that using more of what was already an over-price...

That 'all you can eat shrimp' wasn't such a great idea after all?

If you happened to tune into CBS's broadcast of Billy Joel's concert in New York a few weeks ago, that was Sanborn on Sax.
I saw most of the show (almost twice), but must have missed Sanborn. All of the sax I saw was being handled by Joel's regular sax player, Mark Rivera.

Katelyn Davis is gone as well.
That’s a shame.

I hope it’s because she found something better out there…. She gave the impression she was a hard worker with a sense of humor and pride in her work.

Tandy's intro keyboard riffs were signature to ELO's breakout hit "Evil Woman" in the mid-70's.

They seemed to have their way with WLS' Optimod back then, too... :blink

What's next? A 5-day suspension because someone sitting next to the kid who farted in class took offense to it?

Or… hire more journalists and pay them a living wage. AI rewrites don’t solve the problem of not having real coverage of local issues. Sure sounds like a solution. Let's all know which stations(s) you buy and/or manage and apply it to. Meanwhile, suggested rewrites to keep a story fresh could be do...

Re: Sinclair Generative Artificial Intelligence

Instead of running the same story, using the exact same verbiage, 17 times in 4 newscasts per day, perhaps they can do with AI what they refuse or are too lazy to do manually - refresh rewrites.

If so: AI - bring it!
