Re: 707

Looks like 707 changed personnel often; they were not the same for that 2nd 'hit' as when 'I Could Be Good For You' was released. I remember MegaForce (the song, not the movie). Sounded a bit like Journey (the lead singer of MF did go on to sing with Journey for a short while after Steve Perry left ...

Anyone here remember a band called 707?

I hadn't heard this song in decades, but woke up to the melody playing in Radio Noggin the other day and had to look it up...

Re: Name The Beer 2.1

That's got to be a Paulaner Doppel Bock. We have a winner! https://i.ibb.co/10jLPvS/salv2-2.jpg The 'original' "-ator": "The monks who originally brewed doppelbock named their beer "Salvator" (literally "Savior", but actually a malapropism for "Sankt Vater", "St. Father", originally brewed for the ...

Re: Name The Beer 2.1

I'm beat. Some obscure brand I've never seen or heard of. Probably not even sold around here. I'll defer to Bryce for this one. The brand is anything _but_ obscure for those who enjoy German beer on this side of the pond. After a quick search, it looks to be available @ LCBO & The Beer Store. That ...

"I Wish It Would Rain" by the Temptations.
Add another word to the title & you've got a hit by Phil Collins, "I Wish It Would Rain Down", featuring

Re: Rain

Purple Rain - Prince

"We're so sorry, Uncle Albert
But there's no one left at home
And I believe I'm gonna rain."

- Sir Paul

Yeah, it's in the song, not the title.

Re: Alex Trebek dies of cancer

I was saddened to hear this on the radio yesterday afternoon. RIP Mr. Trebek.

Seems rather ironic that he and Sean Connery passed on within 10 days of each other.

But what happens when an idiot brat runs the country? Very very bad things, believe me.
Things like... being sentenced to spend every waking moment posting shlt here. Oh, the agony.

Re: Unique Edit Of "Hello It's Me"

The "Something/Anything?" album - cover & discs - took quite a beating at our place back in the day. Also enjoyed "Set Me Free" w/Utopia (I still believe that should have been a 'hit'), alongside his production chops w/many others. If there was a radio format designed to play all of TR's creations, ...

Re: When are we going to accept that we can't stop the Coronavirus from running its course?

"Science" - like characteristics of the virus itself - changes, often due to not having a complete data set on which to base a conclusion, and (certainly in this case) depending on the mouthpiece you're getting it from. Pluto You're only kidding yourself if you parade around regurgitating 'science' ...

Re: When are we going to accept that we can't stop the Coronavirus from running its course?

It may help to live on an island nation... where the points of entry are limited and highly monitored. I understand that many of you don't trust science, because it doesn't come from a 2000 year old work of fiction. Pfffft.... You seem to enjoy making fun of - or displaying heavy disdain for - peopl...

Re: WPR Pulls Plug on HD Radio

"This change will only affect listeners who are using an HD Radio to listen to our All Classical network on those stations.” According to Bechtol, the ECB estimates that fewer than 500 listeners will be affected." Hardly a complete abandonment (as the subject line would suggest). Yet. I have an HD ...
