Face it, Accuweather reports (and traffic reports) are often pre-recorded. But this is the 21st Century. Your smartphone will alert you to weather watches and warnings. Broadcast radio is obsolete.

The DCist was a local micro-news platform. They never reached break even.

They are growing their podcast offerings and Salon style events. Both have solid revenue models.

Public radio stations are supposed to be non profits - not money-grubbing, avaricious B-school types.

Try Frndly TV. They stream Antenna TV and all the other HD sub-channel networks. It's cheap and you get the full feed - no preempting shows to run infomercials.
