Re: Madison Ryke
That's a good jump! WBNS is the long-dominant CBS affiliate in Ohio's largest city (yes, Columbus proper has more people than Cleveland and Cincinnati, but CLE and CVG still have larger metro areas and markers)

Heck, 106.1/1340 is losing to Joy Worship and WTKG (whose only FM presence is on 96.1 HD2)

It would probably do okay in a small, rural market with little competition

Re: Hey WDIV, so just where is Idlewild?
The Pere Marquette is indeed a very popular fly fishing destination. Plenty of snowmobile trails up there, too. Lots of logging activity up there. Baldwin used to have a McDonalds, but it closed many years ago. There is a large grocery store about 10 miles south of town, closer to Big Star Lake. Th...

Re: Hey WDIV, so just where is Idlewild?
I think Lake County is the only county in the Lower Peninsula that has never had a full-power station licensed to a community within it. There has been a religious satellator in Baldwin for years and there is a NOAA repeater in the county as well.

Re: Coverage maps for FM reception?
Back in late September or early October of 1986, The New 102.5 FM WIOG in Saginaw was picked up (way up) at FORMER Sugarloaf ski resort (near Traverse City) when I heard the song "Somebody Like You" by .38 Special (from 1986 album "Strength In Numbers") in the car!!! My late mommy took me there for...

There is still a Boston Market in Holland (16th St and US-31). Not sure if there are any left in Grand Rapids

Re: Fly lands in Orlando
Orlando still effectively has two country stations, as 97.5 WPCV, while focusing all its ad money on Polk County, puts a very good signal over most of Orlando from its (100kW) stick less than 20 miles south of Disney.

Re: Traverse City - Petoskey Nielsen Audio #s
92.9 was also likely hurt by the market boundary changing to remove Cadillac and Manistee from the market (two areas where Z93 doesn't have to compete with KHQ)

Re: Whitmer VS Dixon
I think Whitmer will win, but it will be closer than 2018. Schuette basically gave up late in that campaign.
My early prediction: Whitmer 52, Dixon 47

Re: Smile FM buys WGVS 850
What is the purpose of buying an AM station for a Christian Music format other than for a FM translators situation. Does 850 already have an FM translator? Well, that's the way the FCC rules are. Having an AM station allows a translator to have a much larger coverage area in many cases. If you want...

Speaking of Munson, their Manistee campus is roughly 30 miles from WMOM's stick in southern Mason County
