Re: Who do you want on your party's 2024 Presidential ticket?
For the Republicans, I think Ron DeSantis should be at the top of the ticket. He won Florida by nearly 20 points this week (including winning Miami-Dade County) and doesn't turn off as many people as Trump. Some possible VP candidates include Rand Paul, Nikki Haley, Larry Hogan (managing to win elec...

Re: Jack Needs A Job
I think redistricting hurt O'Malley a lot. He lost most of his strong areas to the new 102nd (VanderWall, who was gerrymandered out of the State Senate and dropped back down to the House) and 104th (Roth) districts while adding most of Traverse City proper (which has always had a progressive lean co...

And that is even with some of WTCM-FM's strongest counties being removed from the market!MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 6:13 amVery small population???
Have you seen TCM-FM and KLT's ratings lately???
Seems to me they outperform nearly every other station in the market. What does that say about everyone else?

WLUC was CBS for many years, but lost it to WJMN in 1992.MetalUpYourAss1973 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 9:19 amWLUC wasn't the one to change as they are FOX and NBC. WJMN 3 changed over to MyNetwork and Antenna TV.

Re: iHeart and HD
I was in Louisville at the end of September and a couple of the iHeart FM's there still had HD2's on as of then (95.7 WQMF, 97.5 WAMZ, 100.5 WSDF; WSDF has K-Love and Air1 on HD2 and HD3 respectively). Also, WOOD and WMAX still have HD2 feeds (however, both simulcast talk AMs with no analog FM pres...

Re: WTCM Audio Processing
Was up north recently and wanted to pay kudos to the engineering team at WTCM. The audio processing is probably one of the better sounding country stations we have anywhere in this state. Not super loud, just rich sounding across the spectrum. Hats off to whomever you are! It might have been more d...

Re: Old Cable TV Line ups(New thread)
Shaw in Sault Ste. Marie never carried WGTU/WGTQ, but oddly Sudbury did get WGTQ on cable for years. Speaking of northern Ontario, WGTQ and WWUP were carried in a good portion of northeastern Ontario and maybe even into northwestern Quebec. WTOM had some Canadian cable carriage, mostly in the shore...

Re: WLDR-FM
I was up in TC a couple of weeks ago and WLDR (all 880 watts of it!) had a classic hits format. That format should be on 92.3 or 99.3, which both run the exact same Memories FM format from the same location! WLDR was lost just south of TC to WDEZ from Wausau, WI. 101.9 to IPR makes sense for multipl...

Re: Ian coverage on SWFL locals
Streaming ABC 7/NBC 2's coverage at the moment. They're doing a very good job IMO. My mom has a distant cousin who lives in Lee County, and the word a county official used to describe the likely state in that area is "decimated." Hoping he made it through safely and still has a home, as it's obviou...

Re: August Radio Ratings
EMF could pull a Northern Michigan and buy a signal to use for Air1 so they wouldn't go directly H2H with WCSG. Speaking of WCSG, I actually listen to them on my way home from work as they have traffic every 15 minutes (at :00, :15, :30, and :45 past each hour). How often do the other stations do tr...

Re: WOUF Back! On 750 Petoskey.
93.3 Onekama is one case of where a noncommercial winner would've actually served the public better than the actual winner (Smile FM, Strong Tower Radio, or even EMF, just to name a few). However, I remember there being a slight bidding war between Suzanne and WMOM's current owner for 93.3 Onekama (...

Re: Smile FM buys WGVS 850
A note about Smile FM: Smile FM has a new station signing on (eventually) in Big Rapids. 98.9 with a full-power signal of 6kw on the tower a mile south of Ferris State University. It hasn't even been assigned call letters, but there's yet another Smile FM coming on the air as a full-power. If it's ...
