Re: Favorite DJ'S

Definitely Ted Richards...he sounded so good on WOMC in 2008-09. I was upset when they let him go.

Also:
Ted Anthony - WLTI 1990s
Pete McRae - WKQI/WDFX early 1990s
Joe Mama - WDRQ 1996-97
Mike Waite - WHYT/WKQI 1980s
Larry Doc Elliott - WJLB 1980s
B J Hunter - WABX 1983

Re: Detroit Radio Stunt from maybe 30 years ago......

It was early in 1985. JJ Walker at WHYT was the DJ that locked himself in the studio, ‘protesting’ then morning host Bobby Mitchell’s comments about King Boots (some dog), which purportedly got Bobby suspended. I don’t know the King Boots story, though.

Entercom should move Sunday Morning Brew with Pam Rossi to 98.7. I think that it would be a better fit. On WOMC it is not much of a show anymore, as the unique songs from the show have been pared to a minimum, usually to the first two hours of Pam’s shift.

Re: A/C stations in the “D”During the 80’s

In the 80s, I remember: WVAE 92.3 in 1986-1987. I believe the jocks were all voicetracked. You're thinking of "92 Music" WNTM. WVAE "The Wave" with the new age/NAC "Wave" format lasted from late 1987 to late 1989 when it became WMXD. Yes. Mixed up two stations there. Thanks. WNTM “Ninety Two Music”...

Re: A/C stations in the “D”During the 80’s

In the 80s, I remember: WNIC: St. James and Harper, then Harper and Gannon (mornings), Gene Maxwell (middays), Alan Almond (nights) for many years. Jim Paolucci, Peter Carey, Bill Bailey, Paul Russell, Chris Edmonds (all in afternoons at times). WLTI: Started in 1985, I think. Pat Holiday, Eddie Rog...

Re: 98.7 Song Requests

Heart Hotels and Make Love Stay - Dan Fogelberg I’ll Be Around - Spinners We’re In This Love Together - Al Jarreau Hope that we hear an air staff soon. And hopefully the station doesn’t constantly tweak itself, like what 105.1 did for years under various AC formats. No Katy Perry/Lady Gaga/Usher, pl...

Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!

Entercom should move Stephen and JoAnn to 98.7, move Beau to the morning slot on WOMC, move JJ to drive time, and put Pam Rossi on middays.

What the hell is wrong with Beasley? Bigg and Shae Shae were sounding really good most recently. These companies always have to f*ck with something. With their other property (CSX), it’s amazing that they have maintained #1, with star talents like Dahmer....ugh.

Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!

Sounds good so far. We haven’t heard soft AC of this caliber since Alan Almond’s show which ended in 2010. As for a full time format like this, you’d have to go back to WLTI 93.1 in 1996, prior to ‘DRQ, to hear this. IMO, I still think a station like KTWV 94.7 would have worked a bit better: it woul...

There’s an aircheck on mcrfb.com of Ted Richards in the Fall 1984 on CFXX which is fantastic.

Re: AMP 98.7 flipping!

It’s interesting that Entercom, even for a short time, would put holiday programming on 98.7, when another (WOMC) would normally be following suit within the next week.

5:00pm already?

WOMC's 4pm TOH ID mentioned that it was 5pm. Beau just announced the beginning of the 5pm 'all request' hour. Did someone over there forward their clocks prematurely, or is he VT'd today? :smokin

Re: McAllister out at 97.1

It's obvious Leach does have a gambling issue because that is all he talks about. Back on the main topic. I am pleasantly surprised (I only listened to the first hour) that the morning show is talking a lot more sports now. Maybe I will start listening again. Agreed. But the added music beds under ...

Re: McAllister out at 97.1

Surprised they kept Sarah. What does she actually do aside from reading traffic reports? Why not move her to 99.5? Seriously. She has nothing to add when anything sports related is the topic. So out of her element. I feel like they could find a much cheaper traffic person. Did key talent threaten t...

Re: McAllister out at 97.1

The Reason they didn't renew Mc'Allister's deal is because CBS is selling the Radio Division. They are cutting everywhere. You will see more of them.Eventually, the Station will be Valenti and the low paid talent.Btw...Dan Leach is the worst Broadcaster I've ever heard. He's proof, if the death of Radi...
