Re: Classic Country In The North
Classic Country would be a logical choice up north, but here's how it would play out... The station would sound great. You would likely find business owners willing to buy spots, and play the station in their place of business. The minute the business owner leaves, his hayseed employees change the s...

Re: 106.7 Detroit is identical to 105.7 Columbus
The funny thing is - the Real WLLZ lasted nowhere nearly as long as WCSX or 89X, two stations that are still around and have more-or-less kept the same format since their respective launches. And we all know WRIF's life span is three times the length of the original WLLZ - and counting. Wheels was ...

As for Podell, I personally believe he left a sinking ship. There's a good chance Cumulus will dump Detroit. Then what? He probably didn't want to wait around to find out.

Re: Cool FM 95.1 and 100.7
Obviously, I am in the minority here, but I actually enjoy the Can-Con on Cool-FM. I enjoyed it more on K106.3 Sarnia, until the co-channel jesus freak translator came along, making clear reception impossible.

Joe Wade Formicola is deceased, sadly.

The 90's era WLLZ many of you opine for was already running on fumes. Wheels was at it's peak all through the 80's. Here's the guy who launched WLLZ in late fall, 1980 https://www.vbprofiles.com/people/john-larson-540c99710850ad045400a020 After PD Jay Clark left, it was all downhill for WLLZ. Where...

I am listening to The Breeze a lot less. Too many annoying snowflake tunes. That crap is readily available on WNIC, among others.

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here
I don't like the logo they are using; looks nothing like any of the classic WLLZ logos. Where the hell are the famous call letters?!?! Imaging isn't half bad but would sound better if voiced by Chris Corley (heard on WIOT and for a long time WDVD), Paul Turner (heard on WRSR) or Jon Pleise (heard o...

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here
Wheelz didn't even make it halfway thru the decade of the 90's, yet the decade most well represented during the first 90 minutes of 106.7 Detroit's Wheels (yes, they are spelling it without the "Z") is - the 90's!!! This station sounds more like K-Rock circa 1997 music wise than it does Wheelz. Poi...

Re: 98.7 signal in Genesee County
I was referring to when WLLZ was a standalone FM, long ago, way before your time. The studios moved from 8009 Lyndon in Detroit, to 14 Mile & Northwestern Hwy in Farmington Hills. But thanks for playing.

Re: 98.7 signal in Genesee County
Correct. It's a mile or so north of there, at Lyndon and Cloverdale. The studios were in that building too. One day, the bullets started flying out front, and everyone had to duck and cover. Not long after, studios were moved to Farmington Hills.

Re: 98.7 The Breeze on air line-up
I know it's 2019, but I had more faith that Entercom, unlike iHeart, would actually invest some money into their on-air lineup. If this station really can't pull together an airstaff with at least one or more of Chris Edmonds, Dave Lockhart Kevin O'Niell, Kevin Sanderson, Linda Lanci, Lisa Berry, L...

Re: 98.7 The Breeze just ruined itself with new playlist
Strangely enough, this is how WLLZ made it's debut. At first, the air talent had no names.
