Re: Local News Stations in Dayton To Cover Mass Shooting

If I am a reporter in Dayton I have way more local contacts than an outside reporter from Detroit, contacts I have cultivated over years that I am not sharing with outsiders. Reporters in Dayton will cover this event better than anyone outside the area.

Erik Smith was at WXYZ for nearly 50 years. Stan Chambers was at KTLA for at least 60.

Did Erik work behind the scenes on the technical side of things at WXYZ for a few years before becoming a reporter?

Anchors sellling instead of reporting

I watched part of the TV 29 & 8 newscast ten days ago, the news anchor read the "Two minute drill" sports and went right into mentioning each and every business on their website. They took the station website full screen and someone highlighted each business while the anchor was talking about their ...

Re: Regional Emmys

I believe there are 63 Emmy categories in Michigan, and we'll say 5 entries in each category at $150 an entry. That's over $45,000. What do 63 trophies with engraving cost? $6300?

Has anyone else noticed the annoying clicking sound happening during the morning news?
Is it a constant clicking, or just when mics are on in the studio and not during live shots?

Re: Breaking: Meredith to possibly exit the TV business

The fast-paced changing TV industry continues to roil on...this time, Meredith wants out. This will include WNEM in the Flint/Saginaw market. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-meredith-stations-exclusive/exclusive-meredith-to-explore-sale-of-its-u-s-broadcast-stations-sources-idUSKCN1S74KX I'll bu...

Best of luck Nick, you made a good decision to leave TV 5. Glad you are back home again and hope you are doing well.

Here's the fabricated story management sent Nick on. You will notice there are no flags being flown to offend anyone, of any kind. Only rumors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQMgYOAMoRc

Re: Thanks for working here! Here’s a grilled cheese sandwich!

The employees at FOX66/TV25 seem happy. Of course, they aren't working to fill up a noon, 4, or 5 PM newscast either. perhaps they were practicing for April 12. https://nationaldaycalendar.com/days-2/ ... -april-12/

Congrats to longtime ABC 12 photographer Tom Brocklehurst for being inducted into the Academy of Television Arts and Science's Silver Circle Awards for his 25+ years of distinguished service in broadcasting. Many of us have worked and competed against Tommy out in the field on far to many stories o...

It's difficult to believe quotes from a suspended state trooper. Someone who was asked to turn over their badge and gun no less.
