Re: Groups & singers that belong in the R&RHOF

Jethro Tull and Procol Harum -- both are venerable and unique in the prog rock annals, though the former has been through so many personnel line-ups that it should be known as Ian Anderson, Inc.

Re: 2019 Detroit Tigers

Our local media seem to be doing a full court press to be kissing the Tigers' organization asses these past few days. The hysteria over their first round draft selection is vomit inducing. They must all want to demonstrate their loyalty to Chris following the wave of critical editorials about the I...

Re: Newest Jeopardy! Uberchampion

As was mentioned, his wager in Final was probably a smart and logical one...for ordinary mortals. :razz :hat I disagree. Second place gets $2000 and 3rd place gets $1000. You don't keep what you had on the board if you don't win. Why would he settle for for that small payout rather than go for brok...

Re: Newest Jeopardy! Uberchampion

I think he bet to lose. I think he was ready to go home. His last bet was out of character and wasn't enough to potentially pass a winning answer. He was either hoping she would get a wrong answer or wanted to lose. To put it another way she bet to win and he didn't bet to win. I was thinking much ...

Re: Roky Erickson

His life was indeed a "rocky" road. I was a casual fan of the 13th Floor Elevators back in the day; that electric moonshine jug was unique!

RIP

Justin Upton was garbage.
Often frustratingly streaky, but hardly "garbage".
He's averaged 28 HR and 89 RBI per 162 games over his career with an .826 OPS, but also 171 strikeouts. He's currently out with turf toe.

A former member of this board is a broadcaster in Celena. I hope he and his family are OK.
OMG, yes! :-o :(

(edit)
I just checked, he and the family are okay as they live a town over. Some of his friends lost their homes, however.

Re: 2019 Detroit Tigers

How long before Ronny Rodriguez is sent packing? The guy swings at everything, and can’t field to save his life. It’s not just this recent stretch- his fielding was bad in Toledo last year as well. Let's face it, for a while Rodriguez was the only reliable bat in the entire line-up; he's still seco...

Re: 2019 Detroit Tigers

I still blame Dombrowski more than anyone else. Years of neglecting our farm system + the hire of Ausmus fucked up this organization more so than any other factor. Several of Dombrowski's farm hands were traded for immediate big league production in an all-out bid to fulfull Mr. I's dying wish for ...

Getting swept by the pathetic Marlins illustrates how awful this team really is.
And at home, no less! :rolleyes
However, until they get swept by the Orioles next week the Tigers can't lay claim to being the most awful. :razz
