Re: Jessica Dupnack so unprofessional! AGAIN.
Deadend is right. There's no direct local competition—Fox 2 is basically the only game in town in the mornings unless you want national news...which makes some of these new News Director's decisions even more baffling. Can someone explain why they keep putting three guys on the desk when there are m ...

Re: Tech issues galore: What the fuck is going on at Kroger?
Isn't that near Meijer? Yes, Meijer, with a fuel station is nearby. Also, the Kroger that would be closed is in the same plaza as a Target store. Given the traffic at that intersection (which can be heavy and excessive at times) and the fact that Coolidge splits at Fourteen Mile and continues south ...

Re: Comcrap and WXYZ / WMYD are at an impasse
Comcast promised me a $30 credit for the inconvenience. My latest bill did not show the credit. Called them today and after jumping through many hoops I got them to send me and email confirming the credit. Thet also tried to upsell me on my service. I cancelled my TV package and only have wifi and ...

Re: Week of 4/12
I turned to WDIV/4 and they were airing their usual replay of the 11 O'clock News. WWJ/62 and WJBK/2 were airing regular dumb late night programming...all during the passing of a tornado warning in the downriver area! What the actual f__k! >: Granted, this was shortly after the major danger passed ...

Re: Dream Cruise and WOMC…
I agree stopnswap2. The only oldies I hear any more is at one of my grocery stores.
I miss the era of Dick Purtan, Tom Force, Tom Ryan, Rick Hunter and Don Phillips on WOMC. Good tunes, and great knowledge about what they were playing.

Re: WNIC flips to all-Christmas
Does any station still play Andy Williams, Ed Ames, Bing Crosby (without David Bowie), Bobby Helms, the Harry Simone Chorale, and some of the other great holiday songs and singers of the 50s and 60s?

Re: Detroit TV stations drop the ball yet again on severe weather info
I heard the wind, saw a flash of lightning, turned on all the local channels and saw nothing storm related. Then I tried Fox Weather on Comcast, and they weren't even broadcasting a weather program. Not sure what that was about.

Re: Scripps News Weekend Debrief instead of 7 News Detroit at 6pm
I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I just assumed some sporting event ran late and the entire evening schedule was behind.
But, that's not the first time I've had the debrief instead of what I expected on Channel 7.

Re: A Tribute to Dick Purtan
There's no doubt Dick Puritan is the number one radio personality to ever come out of Detroit. However, I really enjoyed Tom Ryan from 104.3 back in the day. You might want to add J.P. McCarthy to that list A lot of the history between Tom Ryan and Dick Purtan's collaborations are featured in this ...

Thank you for the heads up. Though 1 hour hardly seems enough time to highlight all he accomplished.

Re: Fox Weather added to WJBK channel 2.6
So I tried watching it last night while it was pouring rain, hoping to see a local radar. None to be had. They were more worried about showing the heat wave in the south and the storms near Cleveland and Columbus. I liked Weatherscan (I think that was the name) that Comcast carried a few years back ...

Re: The Nine on Fox2
All three females at once gets some awkward pauses in the convo, sometimes. I like the mixed viewpoints. Derek Kevra always has an interesting perspective. Kelly Rowe is good too. I think Ryan Ermanni does his homework ahead of the show and is prepared to talk on topic. I like Michael Estime when he ...
