Re: 89X,93.9 The River & AM580 are Gone

Didn't realize that they were on 125W- that's actually not bad for reaching Toledo on skywave on that low of power, the low band position obviously helps. So how can they get 250W again, aside from simulcasting on 93.9FM?

Re: WPAY 1520 dealt to Fusion Radio

Col Flagg, you may be right, 730 might be a better venue, but 1520 has nice new equipment is why I wanted that one. FWIW, the xmas music on AM1520 is better than 101.5 as far as the music library is concerned. I doubt Jimmy Swigart wants to unload 730, and I'm sure that it's a time warp going into t...

Morons. How about you put AM580 simulcast on 93.9 and have a "Big 8" format, you dips. WTF, missed an opportunity as Top 40 would have been better on 89X than country as far as listeners. How stupid.

Re: Antenna TV gone?

TeddyBear, what's the scoop with Pluto TV? Free (other than paying for video data) for shows with a ton of commercials? No current big 4 networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox) I assume?

Re: WNIC All Christmas

Why can't iHate expand their playlist? They have a hard time playing the Top 40 Christmas, yet alone mix it up a bit with a throwback instrumental or something interesting. I don't want, need, or listen to the same 30 songs over and over again. WRVF should get a clue from WCKY-FM when they were WTTF...

How bad is iHeart Radio in the hole, that even after trashing 1/2 of Toledo's engineering staff, they come after Shaggy? Come-on now.

I don't think WNWO has increased the power yet- can anyone confirm that?

Re: Solar Cycle 25 Is Upon Us

MUF of 6MHz - so forget about coast to coast on 10 meters, or even hearing WWV on 20MHz? That's too bad- but lack of sunspots and solar activity should be good in that we don't end-up with a giant solar flare that would hit Earth right after the Covid vaccines make their way around we would have a n...

Re: The FCC Will Vote This Month on All-Digital AM

Locally WION and CFCO have some really nice sounding AM stereo. I have a recording of WJR in AM Stereo, and it will blow you away- WJR's 2001 recording sounds better than most FM's do today! Seriously good audio from WJR in the 80's and 90's and early millennia until they put the Harris HD junk in a...

Re: WNWO (NBC) Toledo granted FCC license for new 275 kW DTV transmitter.

Hindsight is 20/20; WTOL and WTVG would have been better served with their old UHF CH 17 and CH19 transitional HDTV signals which had pretty decent coverage with just rabbit ears. Yes, it's nice to maintain your VHF heritage frequency that you've had since 1948/1958, but rabbit ears don't do so well...

Alicia can leave cookie crumbs in my bed anytime she damn well pleases; not only good on the eyes, but good at her job too.

You would be correct:
"the WNWO Tower is a 1,437 feet guy-wired aerial mast for the transmission of FM and TV in Oregon, OH...The WNWO Tower was completed in 1966 and is property of Raycom Media, Inc. It is the tallest man-made structure in Ohio!..."

Re: The FCC Will Vote This Month on All-Digital AM

yep, it's IBOC digital only without the analog portion, MA3, I believe. So half a billion AM receivers can't get it, and maybe, just maybe a million can? There was a much higher penetration level for AM Stereo than for HD on AM, and AM ST didn't obsolete any radios whereas all HD on AM can only be r...
