Re: Christmas Music

I'm Dreaming of a Covid-Free Christmas, just like 2018, you know...where kids could go, and, spend all day to, at, at their damn schools...I'm dreamin of a mask-free Christmas, without the governor bitching everyday....may your days be Merry and Bright, and I can visit my parents at the nursing home...

GET-TV seems to always have on a 1970 Johnny Cash show, not that it's all bad

Re: WLDR Renewal Applications

The only way to lose your license is to not fix a transmitting issue, then ask for reduced power STA's for about 6 years; then when you aren't going to fix your ground system and transmit at rated power, the FCC will finally call-in your license, and like right now, too. That's what happened with WT...

Re: Slogans not matching stations

WTOD 1560AM was 5000 Watts daytime when they had a directional signal with two towers and a working ground system. One tower got axed, and they went to 1500W ND days, so before the drop, they were tied as Toledo's strongest AM station depending on where you were in a null or not, ground conductivity...

Re: 97.1 Detroit's #1 country station

IF Cumulus traded 96.3 for 97.1 then you could have: K-100, K97...now hear your favorite big hat-singing songs on 99.9 in Toledo and on 97.1 in Detroit

IIRC, WABC is hiring Cousin Brucie away from SiriusXM to do his show on AM radio again!

You guys are all too young when WIOT was the top mid-market AOR station in the entire country...one of kind and Frazier Reams (RIP) let them make him the cash and do whatever they pretty much wanted to.

Re: Q105.5 in Toledo is stunting

A real change would be to change it into a "Listen at Work" radio station, if there were more people still working at offices as there were a year ago, but I guess we'll find out Tuesday Morning just how underwhelming it will be?

Re: August Numbers

Tigers playing 500 ball is good for ratings numbers. On another topic, in Milwaukee, #1 is an AM station, as is #5, why isn't AM like that in Detroit (well WWJ is in a 3 way tie, but WJR is nowhere near the double digits that they once had)

Re: Old WJR Radio Guide

Like, put "The Breeze" format on WJR as your "At work radio station" with local TOH newscasts and office music for the weekdays and save the syndicated crap for weekends, overnight at most.

Re: EAS malfunctioning Friday morning or just Verizon?

Better off with the ancient AM radio PEP daisy-chain EAS alerts, at least half of those would alert you that something is up when your phones don't do sh*t with a massive traffic jam over the towers.

What's not to like about that Radio Guide? Ernie and Paul on it and it lists all the Stereo AM stations as well (about a dozen, including the Tiger games on WJR)

Re: Towers? We Don't Need No Stinking Towers

I would say Cumulus should investigate renting others' TV and cell towers for their FMs- BUT, and here's the big BUT: how much would it cost them in lawyer and engineering fees to move their FM sticks to new locations, including several with an AUX antenna on them the past few years? Now they need a...
