Re: The Good Old Days of Full-Powered Analog TV

Wow, amazing analog coverage areas, and if they digital stations today had this type of power, you could use rabbit ears in your car. You could see in 1995 the beginning of the end of broadcasters as FOX buying-up the nice VHF stations in the top 10 markets, and in 1996 the unlimited sloth of radio ...

Re: MiniDiscs anyone?

Wasn't the original W4 Detroit one of the few to ever broadcast in Quad? Quad vinyl is sweet. Have a Percy Faith Quad LP that even in stereo has a wonderful "sound stage", especially with headphones on.

MiniDiscs anyone?

Yes, I'm one of the fanboys for 'older technology' that was unique, works quite well, (still probably working too), but never caught-on big in the USA like it did in Japan and in other countries; this includes my affection for the MiniDisc format and for CQUAM AM Stereo. Regarding MiniDiscs: any fan...

Hard to believe when she has a hubby and kids and seems so bright-eyed; how sad, if only people would call 211 in this situation :(

I love the old school test patterns and "1KC" audio tone. I'm afraid the 'Politically Correct' people would make you change the Native American Indian to Pee Wee Herman or something now??

Re: Toledo radio Predictions for 2019

It actually makes sense, despite Andy Stuart's presence. Denny's gang on Q1055 was too expensive for their meager share when they have double the share to work with at 93.5FM. Also, Bill Manders hired Cliff Smithers to do country, so it was stupid having him on 93.5 when he belongs on K-100, and wil...

Re: WNWO (NBC 24 Toledo) on RF 23

Hoping 24 WNWO ups the power and/or antenna height, as I'm getting pixilation in Toledo since the jump from 49 to 23 when I only used to have it on very windy days. WGBU, wherever they moved are spot-on one day, then unable to decode the next day.

Re: Toledo radio Predictions for 2019

The afternoon drive time show is the only program I listen to on WSPD, Scott makes it a fairly fun show, even playing music - love it.

Re: WNWO (NBC 24 Toledo) on RF 23

I did a Scan last night, and it confused the hell out of my TV when it showed me two wnwo, one on RF49 one on RF 23, but they both had a crappy signal rating of about 70 so I was surprised that the new signal doesn't have more power as indicated, or perhaps it is not yet at the top of the 24 Tower? ...

Re: 106.5 Toledo/Delta

Rearrange 1560 WTOD, you get 1065, 106.5FM. Programming: "The best of Chet Zablocki's Polka Party", Toledo's longest running radio show from the tape archives of Musicale Studios! Followed by brokered shows from Normy Wamer and Bob Kelly. The return of the "Andrew Z Show", sponsored by Weight watche...

Re: 106.5 Toledo/Delta

sounds like a great idea for Cumulus to take a tax-write-off by donating 106.5 to Annunciation Radio - keeps it locally programmed for the most part as well, or they could even use it with a slightly different format- one more music and one more talk as it is now? They could have done the same thing...

Re: Soft AC to come to Chicago?

I'm surprised that "Me-TV" FM hasn't branched out to other outlets that have a Me-TV affiliate? It seems to me it would be a win-win deal like the old Radio Disney. Not that they should be Frankenstein LPTV audio, but buy-up some cheap underused AM stations or some of Cumulus' firesale stations for ...

Re: WNWO (NBC 24 Toledo) on RF 23

I never could understand why WNWO had a non-spectacular HDTV signal with that giant tower, but I guess that it makes sense if they aren't transmitting HDTV RF from the top of their tower. Does a TV antenna have enough bandwidth to cover the first adjacent without much degradation? IOW, can WNWO thro...

Re: Country stations on AM from the 60’s and 70’s

yep, props to CFCO for their Sunday morning classic country, which I'd almost rather have all the time on 630AM. How do the CTR rules work: the FM of the AM both have to have the same call-letters and the same programming, ie: CFCO-FM (or 2?) was a 50W, then a 250W translator of 630AM when it was Cl...
