Re: WMNT-CD repack, with SNAFU!

WMNT disappeared off the face of the Earth. Can't they stay on RF48 until xxxx date?

Re: WMNT-CD repack, with SNAFU!

After all the infighting, who owns WMNT now? I thought Pastor Pants sold off the station? Didn't the transmitter/antenna once exist at the overloaded, ready to collapse antenna on Westwood? I understand that they're on the old O-I building, so the original Art-Deco stone O-I building, or the 1981 ve...

Re: CKWW 580 Adding More 80’s

DO NOT buy an Phillips Brand LED fluorescent lamp replacements. Look at the fine printing- it warns of harmful interference from 550KHz to 30MHz - yeah, that's real pretty isn't it. We though power line PLC was bad, imagine you and your neighbors with 4 foot long LED buzz-o-matics in your fluorescen...

Toledo OTA Re-pack TV relocations Questions

Thanks to the cellphone hogs, the TV channels are on the literal RF move and I'm an OTA antenna-only guy. Does someone have all the Toledo-area moves required? I understand 11 & 13 are RF11 and 13 and aren't moving, but 11 could use a bit more power on a windy day. WNWO 24 moved down to RF23, but th...

Re: WMNT-CD repack, with SNAFU!

My scan didn't pick-up 48 WMNT at all, so they really need to invest in some technology that will A: Show Channel Guides for each sub channel, B: Show station ID not in the middle of a program and actually send the correct virtual channel information for OTA boxes, C: Have Closed Captioning to follo...

Re: WMTR going Digital

Duh, you are correct BASProShop. They do close-space LPFM, that's for sure. In BG and then in Toledo, there are two totally different signals on 97.7, and again on 106.1MHz. WMTR should just buy 106.5 from Cumulus' holding company and then there won't be a pissing-match on Tigers rights, even though...

Re: CKWW 580 Adding More 80’s

1090 isn't good into Northern Ohio, so we'll have to pry 560 out of Crawford's hands, figure-out if the southern null can be pulled back down and simulcast what's on 580. IBOC will be thrown into Bolles Harbor, and the C-Quam stereo switched back on from the HONEY Radio days. I'm in. Just one lotter...

Re: NOAA Weather Radio

I liked it a whole lot better when there were another 250 local offices and they could have real meteorologists read the forecasts on the 'tape carts', and they had a way to 'cycle' them so you only heard the marine observations every 3rd time around or climate data maybe every 5th time around. Only...

Re: WTVN 610

Enjoyed listening to them on weekends in the early 90's on my Chrysler minivan AM Stereo radio- good audio, music programming, and they would pay an 'oh wow' 45 every once in a while too (in the winter when there were no sports to broadcast), WTVN has of course turned-off their HD both day and night.

You answered your own question: iHeart operates the station, and doesn't have a local morning show, that two negatives right there.

I'd rather have them add 800 watts to their signal, or swap with the Big 8.

Re: WMTR going Digital

So, is 94.3 going to be located in the Toledo City limits so we can hear Tigers baseball games again since they're already hogging the rights for Toledo? I have a very decent radio (1.7uV) and it's not acceptable copy in a moving vehicle to listen to the game. WMTR is a thorn- good luck with that HD...

Re: The Good Old Days of Full-Powered Analog TV

40 element VHF Yagi? 220 miles? How about the curvature of the Earth? So, if I had a 40 foot tower in Monroe, Michigan, I highly doubt this antenna would pick-up Chicago stations? Or, would it (other than ducting). Most towers that went up here in Northern Ohio in the late 60's and early 70's were 4...

Re: HD Noise Cancellers

With 38 HD-AM stations, there are almost more analog stereo AM (CQUAM) stations on the air without disrupting their neighbors, like -1430 WION, and Nautel made it easy to revert your iBoc back to CQUAM in the menu on several of their AM-HD transmitters. The "I" and "Q" are there, just do the calculu...

Re: Allow FM Translators Of AM Stations To Use AM Callsign With LT Extension?

I'm surprised that iHeart tries to hide the other outlets for their broadcast stations, like they're ashamed of it, when they should promote it; ie: WSPD-Toledo, (in a whisper at double speed: WRVF-FM-HD2) and on 92.9FM. Why not brag about using the HD version that's in stereo? I believe that Low Po...
